things i would avoid..
shared drive
low fences
house near a bus stopHave a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0 -
We're currently searching for our first property, and there are certain things I just won't compromise on.
Houses without clear boundaries (like shared driveways and front lawns that span across both house fronts)
No driveway at all
No outside access to the rear garden
No bath
Ridiculously large fireplaces that take up most of the room in the lounge (why?!?!?)
Think that's about it0 -
We did not want a public path up the side of the house, overlooked or small garden, through road, small roads to the house (looked at a beautiful house but it was a maze to get to), not enough parking... we were VERY fussy when we bought last year and lucky in that we found somewhere perfect for us :-)0

I went past a nice looking house the other day, the van on the drive was half way up in the air, the driveway was that steep, i wouldnt even step inside it would put me off totally. my handbrake or driving isnt good enough for that!0

Any neighbours within a quarter mile in any direction.0

Very little would put me off. It's the potential that I look at. I once bought a house with the only loo in the corner of the kitchen! The bath was in a cupboard in the hall.June challenge £100 a day £3161.63 plus £350 vouchers plus £108.37 food/shopping saving
July challenge £50 a day. £ 1682.50/1550
October challenge £100 a day. £385/£31000 -
I totally agree about the neighbours - having lived next to neighbours from hell for a few years....hopefully never again!
Plus electrical wires in beading (although I'd negotiate on price to be able to have them cut into the wall)
Dodgy roof - I have just looked at a property which needs a complete re-tile (but again this would need to be reflected in the price).
Chavvy looking property/neighbours next door - I would just sense problems ahead.....!
Estates with housing association (from past experience I'm afraid)
I can cope with smells/dodgy DIY/animal hair/dirt etc - but I do like it when owners go out if they have estate agents show you around - theres nothing worse than being shown around by an estate agent with an owner in tow! (apart from the over crowding, you don't feel you can property look with so many people watching your every move!).
Location and parking for at least 2 cars for me is key.0 -

Poor local schools
And there has to be somewhere to store an upright hoover.import this0 -
When we were house hunting last year my husband thought I was a nightmare with my "must have" list:
1) a downstairs toilet and space/potential for a bedroom/wet room installation downstairs should it be needed in the future is a must.
2) the main bathroom must be upstairs, not interested in traipsing through the house to have my shower!
3) no shared access/drive or unclear boundaries.
4) off-street parking for at least 2 cars and space for visitors too
5) seperate living areas ie none of this "open plan" living
6) front door opens into a hallway
7) the stairs are located in the hallway, not in a living room.
Neighbours are a tough one, as they may be lovely when you move in and then move out a few months later!0
