Terminating Virgin Media Contract

When we moved into our current home we had Virign Media installed (Fibre Optic Broadband, TV and Phone). I'm just wondering what happens if, while still under the initial contract, we move house to an area where Virgin Media Fibre Optic isn't available. Will they let us move onto their normal broadband/phone line or would we still have to pay to terminate the contract?

You may need to give them a call, this is the closest i could find about them, http://shop.virginmedia.com/the-legal-stuff/terms-and-conditions-for-cable-services.html#home0

usually they will let you switch, if available, to national - but if you can't switch then you would have to cough up the early termination charges...0

Saying that you would have thought it would void early termination charges as they're unable to offer the services in the area, but on the other hand they could see it as your refusing the accept national level services0

I too have a virgin contract for the last 5 months, unfortunately due to various circumstances I simply cannot afford to pay any more. (I'll eventually go bankrupt once I figure out the process)
I'll also be moving out soon, not sure what I should do?0 -

Problem is, I would accept the national level services but only for the remaining duration of the contract. I wouldn't want to be tied down to a new contract when their are cheaper alternatives out there.
Edit: I've just remembered that Virgin Media are increasing their prices soon and section J3 says we can cancel the agreement by giving 30 days notice. Is it worth doing this given we're looking at moving anyway?0 -

Nope, look at it from the other side. You agreed a contract with a minimum term. You choose to move. It's your choice - Virgin didn't provide a contract to provide a service nationwide, they did it to your address, if you chose to move and Virgin don't offer a service where you choose to move to that is not Virgin's fault, hence Termination fees apply.0 -

Phone them first - your situation is different, you can't pay what you are contracted to - you will either agree better terms with Virgin or they will disconnect you are persue for the remaining balance.Problem is, I would accept the national level services but only for the remaining duration of the contract. You could try, ring them - although you would have to disconnect from all services before the 1st of April0 -
Fair point made! and they do clearly state in the tos that not all areas can receive the service0

As per bottom of the email they sent out regarding price changes:
If you do not wish to be bound by these changes you can cancel your contract with us without penalty. The process to be followed is set out in our terms and conditions at virginmedia.com/legalstuff0
