No, I could live without it now.

I have an online log in for the inverter and can easily read the incoming meter once a week / month. The energyhive dashboard is good, but with data that's out by several kWh some days, pointless as anything more than an indication.

Thank you for this view. I'm really hesitating now and holding off on the purchase.

The GP told me that I was too measurement obsessed with taking measurements for weight, blood sugar and blood pressure daily, and measuring my swimming laps, speed, stroke per length and calories burned. He didn't share my interest in the graphs :(

I feel anguished by not being able to measure my export data.

Is anyone else a member of Measurers Anonymous?

    I'm still falling below average. Today 13,300 Wh / 3,780 Wp = 3.52 Os.

Yes, I think I may be a member of 'Measurers Anonymous': Too much expectation, for so little importation...:rotfl:....Sign of the times unfortunately....coffee.gif

Edit: Buy one, they do work if wired up correctly, not 100%, but they are not a 'smart meter' costing £xxxx £ more...:D
2.5 kWp PV system, SSW facing, 45 Deg Roof. ABB Inverter, Monitor: 'Wattson'.
Reg. for FIT Nov 2011. "It's not what you generate; it's how you use it that matters". One very clean Vauxhall Diesel Sri, £30.00 Road Tax: B)

Definition of 'O's = kWh/kWp (kWh = your daily & accurate Generation figure) (kWp = the rated output of your PV Panels).

I too like a good graph! Agree that wattsons are not 100% but no clamp type meter will be. Good enough for me though and I've not had the transmitter reliability problems.

Another thought though is what make and model is your inverter? Mine has an optional expansion board that would give accurate generation figures at least.

I did have a geo solo but the data transfer from sd card to online portal was frankly crap.

Edit: just noticed the GEO chorus PV with bridge uses 2x led pulse readers and only 1x CT clamp, so should in theory be more accurate if your meters are compatible. Led pulse readers should be pretty much 100% accurate.
My PV system: South West England, 10x 250Wp Trina Solar panels, Fronius Inverter, South facing roof, 35° pitch with no shading.

The Chorus PV has been discontinued. I can vouch for it's accuracy in recording import & generation. Unfortunately, due to a software problem, it makes a complete horlicks of the import/export calculation when generation is low. It would be a 5 star product if it wasn't for those few lines of code.

Hmmm, would that be mechanical or electrical (engineering)??..Hmmm, your base load may be correct with the heating on all night... smiley-sw022.gif

Telecomms, but I am HV, LV & live working trained.

The Wattson is good from the point of view that I can see things like the heating switching on & off in response to the thermostats, just not good at accuracy. Part of the problem will be things like power factor and voltage changes, neither of which wattson can correct for. I have a metal halide bulkhead light in the courtyard near the garages. It stays on all night. Wattson sees it as anything between 34 & 120w of consumption - I know that it's actually 82w when measured accurately.

I do have a high background load as I also run a weather station & web server from home, so there's no denying that, it's just not as high as wattson sometimes makes it out to be.

It's not a problem - it's good enough for indication purposes as already stated.

Mine's jumped up to reporting 500W base load overnight (again... as predicted). Will leave it this time to see if it drops off to usual 200W.
As Andy mentioned above though, as an indicator it'll do. (and I think I'll just get used to its foibles!)
Here's hoping for the sun the forecasters predicted today.
