Surprised and pleased because although bright, it was really cloudy generally?

Well 4kw system installed today and up and running at 2pm ... My generation meter read at 4.38kwh and system stopped generating around 5pm . So this reading is the amount of energy i generated? That's what the meter records doesn't it ?

Your generation meter (the extra one they installed today) is the one that you will give your FiT readings from.
This will be the focus of your attention for the next 20 years, or until you get bored!!!
But yes, the meter records the kWh your pv array generates.

If you're even slightly obsessive, be afraid!!

Well i am a bit unfortunately ! I have resisted any further monitoring equipment and changing our general habits , might put washing on during the day and the dishwasher but that's about it .. But then it's only been installed and running for 5.5hrs of which 2.5hrs have not been creating anything :D

Welcome to the funny farm: just check that your Gen Meter was at zero to start as most aren't. Your O's number for today is 1.095 O's; as it is a short day, sure you won't get the Spooning..smiley-laughing021.gif

Today 3.04 O's....not bad with all the clouds....coffee.gif

Reg. for FIT Nov 2011. "It's not what you generate; it's how you use it that matters". One very clean Vauxhall Diesel Sri, £30.00 Road Tax: B)

Definition of 'O's = kWh/kWp (kWh = your daily & accurate Generation figure) (kWp = the rated output of your PV Panels).

As others have said welcome to the group. Where in this great land are your panels installed and which way do they face?

If you are thinking about the Wattson Solar Monitor; I think this supplier may give you the better price......Don't know if they sell the WiFi gizmo to get Wattson at Home running. If not, you can get them from EnergyHive direct, just tell them it is for use with Wattson...HTH. http://www.navitron.org.uk/store/misc-gadgets

Thank you, I have ordered the Wattson from Navitron.

Now I must source the Energy Hive.

I bought mine from energyhive and explained to them that I was using it with a Wattson Solar Plus.

It connects to both sites and I pay nothing:cool:

They were the same price...not sure if they are now!

Edit. They are. If you go to energyhive's website in the options to buy, you have the choice. Both £29.99 :D

    Edit 2. Just noticed energeno are charging £49.95 + £3.70 P&P:eek:

Thank you. This has helped with my purchasing decision.
