  • Lots of iffy weather in August. Was surprised to surpass pvgis for the month .

    Finished on 478.4kWh:D
4kw (16X250w Sharp). Samil Solar River 3680 TL inverter.
E.mids/SSE. 35 degree roof pitch, no shading.
  • System is almost 3 years 2 month old and FIT has repaid exactly 50% of my initial outlay, this includes the cost of my solar immersion but not any energy saving through home use of PV generated power or loss of interest on my capital but I'm a happy boy. :j

    Generated 12,816 kWh.
    CO2 Avoided 8971 kg
3.995kWP SSW facing. Commissioned 7 July 2011. 24 degree pitch + Solar Immersion installed May 2013, after two Solar Immersion lasting just over the guarantee period replaced with Solic 200... no problems since

Comparing to PVGIS is the only comparison that actually means anything !

Giving actual generation figures (whether or not 'corrected' for system size) will allow other people accurately to gauge how their system compares to yours and (perhaps even more usefully) will alert you to any falling off in efficiency of your system.

I'm not going to get into this debate again but needless to say I find it much more useful to compare with others on PVOutput

Only 1.75 O's or 7 kWh today....not what I was expecting after the weather forecast:(

On a "brighter" note, Wattson say's I used 357 kwh in Aug but paid for 126 kWh of it:T

Bloody shoddy workmanship, not surprised really when it came with the house we bought in 1996!! :)

    :rotfl::rotfl: Give em a break, 18 yrs you'v had it; say 10 yrs prior to that, 28 yrs old.......probably a Z rated appliance....:Dsmiley-laughing021.gif
    2.36 O's today.... coffee.gif

Definition of 'O's = kWh/kWp (kWh = your daily & accurate Generation figure) (kWp = the rated output of your PV Panels).

    August results:

    System: M1 ESE 3.58kWp

    Total generation: 356kWh (2013 352kWh)

    Os (generation per kWp): 99.44kWh

    System: M2 WNW 2.0kWp

    Total generation: 188.6kWh (2013 195kWh)

    Os (generation per kWp): 94.3kWh

    Notes:
    Overall 545kWh & 108% of target (2013 547kWh & 109%).
Surprising month, seemed rotten, "turned out, nice again."
    Import 103kWh.
    Annual total prediction 107%. :)

    Mart
Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

As of last night 1543 kWh generated in the previous 3 months exactly. Wonder how much I`ll have in the next 3 months.....

    :p Half?....quarter?

Try PVGIS. Should be somewhere near.;)

As Eric say's, it gives you the best possible comparison.

    2.95 O's today:D

My point was that 'raw' generation figures or even those 'corrected' for system size do not take into consideration the other significant factors of location & where panels are pointed let alone relative efficiencies of different types of panel.

But if you consistently compare your own results with those that PVGIS thinks you ought to get you'll get a far better indication when something starts to go wrong with your system. And, by way of a bonus, it will give you a far better comparison between your own system and someone else's.

Hmmm, don't think so.....:rotfl: Often up on PVGIS but often down on other peoples O's so what do yea make of that....?

Answer is quite obvious : their panels are at a different location, maybe even pointing in a better direction. Ask them how their outputs compare to their PVGIS forecast.
