Still generating 110W so this isn't quite 'final' monthly figure but I can't see it changing a deal in next hour.

If I'd been asked to guess what monthly results had been, I'd have said 'disappointing' : many cloudy days, several with only a couple of kWh recorded.

However, August generation was actually 432.6 kWh compared to the PVGIS 'revised classic' forecast of 380 - or 13.8% above expectations. That was close to - but not quite so good as - Aug 2013 and rather better than Aug 2012 (Aug 2011 wasn't a full month).

    LATER
Initial estimate was 200Wh below actual figure. % above PVGIS was actually 13.9 rather than 13.8. Situation sounds exactly the same as legoman's

Tailed off towards the end of the month, so a slightly disappointing August total of 217.47 kWh compared to SAF PVGIS of 204 kWh, 6.6% over.

    Aug 2013: 240.70 kWh
    Aug 2012: 220.13 kWh
    Aug 2011: 208.92 kWh

Same here. Lots of cold/dull days on the E. Coast...seemed to be more rain than normal for this month but,

    made 3.97 O's or 15.9 kWh today.

And 423.9 kWh for August against predicted PVGIS of 406kWh:T

Not as good as August 2013 460 kWh:(

Better than August 2012 383.5 kWh:)

    Five months full generation now.

    2,890 Kwh or 722 O's (4.8 O's average per day)

And for fun only (as I don't really see the value in comparing to PVGIS) but currently running at 121% of PVGIS.

Would be nice to see 4,560 Kwh for the year if this continues.

2.5 kWp PV system, SSW facing, 45 Deg Roof. ABB Inverter, Monitor: 'Wattson'.
Reg. for FIT Nov 2011. "It's not what you generate; it's how you use it that matters". One very clean Vauxhall Diesel Sri, £30.00 Road Tax: B)

Definition of 'O's = kWh/kWp (kWh = your daily & accurate Generation figure) (kWp = the rated output of your PV Panels).

Oven has finally given up the ghost.
Bloody shoddy workmanship, not surprised really when it came with the house we bought in 1996!! :)

Electric usage will go up whilst we use convection thingy on the microwave :(

You've obviously got a nice aspect there nigelpm, ya get!

Hit a final day for August with 3.79 ho's, or 15.14 in real money!

Last couple of days saved the month!!
Finished with 413.62kWh as opposed to target of 400, so 103.41% of target.

For the 5 full months and 9 days generation, we're at a gnats' under 64% of target for the year.

Septembers target is 324, here's hoping...!

Now with added Sunsynk 5kw hybrid ecco inverter & 15kWh Fogstar batteries. Oh Octopus Energy too.
  • Overall generation of 154 kWh which is above Climate PVGIS potential estimation (137 kWh), and was the joint second best generation for August since my installation.

    2011 - 133 kWh
    2012 - 154 kWh
    2013 - 163 kWh
    2014 - 154 kWh

Comparing to PVGIS is the only comparison that actually means anything !

Giving actual generation figures (whether or not 'corrected' for system size) will allow other people accurately to gauge how their system compares to yours and (perhaps even more usefully) will alert you to any falling off in efficiency of your system.

    clarification
Not sure what happened here. MSE seems to have 'lost' a couple of words !

My point was that 'raw' generation figures or even those 'corrected' for system size do not take into consideration the other significant factors of location & where panels are pointed let alone relative efficiencies of different types of panel.

But if you consistently compare your own results with those that PVGIS thinks you ought to get you'll get a far better indication when something starts to go wrong with your system. And, by way of a bonus, it will give you a far better comparison between your own system and someone else's.
