    Same MO 1.12 O's...:rotfl:
2.5 kWp PV system, SSW facing, 45 Deg Roof. ABB Inverter, Monitor: 'Wattson'.
Reg. for FIT Nov 2011. "It's not what you generate; it's how you use it that matters". One very clean Vauxhall Diesel Sri, £30.00 Road Tax: B)

Definition of 'O's = kWh/kWp (kWh = your daily & accurate Generation figure) (kWp = the rated output of your PV Panels).

  • £5.52 yesterday (11.4 kWh)

Not as good as 2012, but beating 2013.
  • Hi,everyone...just fitted system...one question though?
does anyone have an E-On Ecometer fitted before solar panels for a general guide to consumption?
On the electric part it seems to show very high usage/red light at times when no appliances are on anywhere in the house, are the solar panels affecting the ecometer? It cannot record or show import/export but when it lights up am I really using more than I am producing???or just a gremlin with the ecometer?

Hiya weasel. Can the Ecometer differentiate between import and export? Is there any chance that it's seeing the export when PV is producing, but demand is low (so being exported) and reporting this as consumption?

I might be sending you on a wild goose chase, but one simple test. Wait till the sun is good, and you're not using much leccy, then see if the reading (export?) goes down when you switch something on, as this will reduce export.

    Mart.
Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.
  • Mine just measured current flow so Martin is correct when the sun is shining turn on your kettle and watch the number go down..... then throw the meter away LOL
3.995kWP SSW facing. Commissioned 7 July 2011. 24 degree pitch + Solar Immersion installed May 2013, after two Solar Immersion lasting just over the guarantee period replaced with Solic 200... no problems since
