    Hi

    Thanks for clarification ....

    Hi
Would agree with you on that. But TBH with or without FITs payments I would have had most of them done.
    :)

Well thanks must go to the fact that I had a good installer.
Forecasted kWh system would generate in a year was.... 2,046.00.
Actual Average over the last two full years being...... 2,519.25.
Savings on Power Usage was taken as the norm ......50%
Actual savings this year showed up as ..... 58.1% Although this was due to having the OptiPlug which allowed use of power only when available free. (Oil Filled Radiator)
Payback time was calculated as being 6.5 years on £7,136.00.
So far pay back has been a total of £2,385.61 in two years, excluding any savings on Power.
Which indicates it will be slightly less than 6 years for Payback to arrive. (less still if FIT rises with inflation)
What we have saved in monetary terms on power cannot be calculated as our usage has gone up, due to having free power available. (Use or Lose) Our Gas usage has probably not changed much at all as Hot water, and C/H are Gas Powered. (Although we do use a Combi Micro more for cooking, but that’s no salvation in the winter after 17:00. And the radiator keeps the chill off when there is at least 900kW available, not much doing with that at the Mo.
So, it is very difficult to work out the exact figures as the variables are so many and are not even calculable without a study lasting a month or more, by which time they would have changed anyway. :rotfl:

0.48 O’s today; so much for the Oil Filled heater.. coffee.gif
2.5 kWp PV system, SSW facing, 45 Deg Roof. ABB Inverter, Monitor: 'Wattson'.
Reg. for FIT Nov 2011. "It's not what you generate; it's how you use it that matters". One very clean Vauxhall Diesel Sri, £30.00 Road Tax: B)

Definition of 'O's = kWh/kWp (kWh = your daily & accurate Generation figure) (kWp = the rated output of your PV Panels).

just the 1 O for me today, got my retro fit solar edge inverter going in tomorrow on my SSW garage system that suffers with shading issues. Hopefully from tomorrow I should start to get some "better" results.

Saw very light shading on my panels last Thursday....think it was the only day the sun shone:rotfl:

Still it was after 15.15 in late November, so I'm not too worried.

One option to remove the shading, would be to knock the house next door down:naughty:

    0.55 O's today:)

    Edit.

The house next door is actually empty, given the chance I would buy it and flatten it but the owner won't let it go. Would certainly solve any shading issues then.

Next door to me is also up for sale and rented out at the moment, but I think the cost would be slightly more than my minimal shading gains;)

Hi, I'm a lurker on this thread. I have no roof suitable for SPs, too many chimneys and gables, etc. However I've bought 3 x 2 pairs and a secondhand inverter and with lots of instructions from the web I've put them on my chicken run. No FIT but getting me a bit back and I have all the children trained to alert me when the meter is 'red' - mummy, mummy, do the hoovering!!
SP have just reduced my direct debit by £22 per month so I'm very happy

aims for 2014 - grow more fruit and veg, declutter
