Back to earth with a bump today - just 6.627 kWh

FWIW, all forecasters agree tomorrow should be better.

Amazing ! Forecasters actually got one right at last :T

A bit cloudy before 10am but solid sunshine thereafter.

Day yield 26.12 kWh (and still producing 7W)

Oscar, Sirlaughalot posted this yesterday on the solar panel guide thread:

I thought of you (and K66 and Eric(?)) with devices like the opti-plugs. I know they are not proportional devices like the Immersun/Solarimmersion, but thought this question was up your street, or down your bin!

    Mart.

For your information, I have placed my 'bin' on 'Ice' for the present 'heat wave' as it is cooler at the base...:rotfl:

Optimmersion comes to mind, but most people will not pay for quality and accuracy....smiley-laughing021.gif

I thank you for the post information and have reluctantly posted on that particular thread....;)

    Hi

Same here, all windows open in the morning ~7am-11:30am yesterday (~7-9:30 today as it warmed up more quickly) followed by aircon until around ~7pm ... lovely and cool at the moment, especially so when you've been in the greenhouse for a while ....

Made me wonder how much leccy my aircon takes and its rated at 1.2-5kWh(setting dependant). I don't turn it off early, the kids go to bed at 7-7.30 so we've been leaving it on till we retire to the bedroom. Still when i'm generating 20+kWh a day and earning over a tenner I can live with 20p an hour in the evening for a few hours so I can sleep.

Don't really understand what the apology is for !

If it's for continuing to use non-SI units then I really don't care. If it was for parking a hot air balloon above my house and shading the panels then I'm afraid you got the wrong house anyway.

Today was reasonably sunny but there was a lot of high level cloud. Some of it might have been dispersing contrails (as mentioned here by someone else a couple of weeks ago) but most were 'proper' clouds.

Still managed to generate 21.85 kWh (giving an E value >10 so I was reasonably happy).

Major problem narrowly averted this morning. We had a ten minute power cut just before 8am giving me 9.5 mins worrying that it would last all day. Luckily it didn't

  • Evening all,

The first of my local PV installer quotes is in. The salesman suggests 16 perlight mono panels 250 kw 12 on my main roof and 4 placed on a lower roof directly beneath it(above porch/garage in a formation i was unaware of . Cost comes in @ £5999 for a 4KW system.
There is some debate as to the wisdom of trying to string the two configerations into a standard inverter by another PV company. Also the company concerned said there has been some quality issues with this chinese made type of panel.

    Any info chaps?
