Unless you've got a huge UPS, it's unlikely that it would have the capacity to keep the solar panels running.
Disconnect rest of house and connect inverter to UPS and you'd make inverter fire up OK. But then you need to connect load to it so that it will actually generate a useful amount (no live mains means you can't export). Reconnecting a few circuits will work - but as soon as a passing cloud scuds by overhead the usage exceeds generation and the UPS blows its fuse (Tried it    )
Possible that a circuit analogous to an immersun might overcome that - but it would be rather dearer than an immersun and only be used a couple of times a year so perhaps not worthwhile.
I believe some of the inverter manufacturers offer what they call an 'island' function for that sort of situation or of course you could go for a non 'grid-tied' inverter. All extra cost functions and I wouldn't even like to guess how much extra.NE Derbyshire.4kWp S Facing 17.5deg slope (dormer roof).24kWh of Pylontech batteries with Lux controller BEV : Hyundai Ioniq50 -
Google Chemtrails , That will explain all the mist we get constantly and why we never seem to have the clear skies that we used to , Chemtrails are more commonly referred to as SRM (Solar Radiation Management) or Geo Engineering.
Great to see people generating there own energy BTW keep it up , has anyone dabbled with making their own solar panels?
:eek::eek: ... Quick - tinfoil hat time .......... that's better :cool::D .... chemtrails ?, who'd have thought it ! ..... :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I thought that it was relatively high humidity that caused the misty blue skies at this time of year and that when 'fair weather' clouds bubble up the overall air humidity falls causing the sky (as seen between the clouds) to become a clearer & darker blue ... well, that's what I was taught, what has happened in the past, and what my weatherstation displayed yesterday & today .... ah well, I suppose that I could be mistaken & the recent clouds are simply camouflage for the Vogon construction fleet, in which case the tinfoil hat wont be much use <removes foil hat, scrunches into ball & throws towards bin full of shiny silver balls in the knowledge that the end is (/could be) nigh (yet again!)> ....

Because the original question said "somewhere in the circuit" rather than "in series with IH"0

Not been generating anything since around 7.30pm. Dark cloud cover since then. Today generated 13.15 kwh / 4.38 O's. Need another 4 kwh to reach the target for the month. Not bad considering the shading..
So not a bad start to month 13 of solar panels. .0 -

Not a problem. I was just covering every possibility in question.NE Derbyshire.4kWp S Facing 17.5deg slope (dormer roof).24kWh of Pylontech batteries with Lux controller BEV : Hyundai Ioniq50 -
Just finished generating for day.
24.93 kWh
Now at 109% of pvgis generation forecast for June.NE Derbyshire.4kWp S Facing 17.5deg slope (dormer roof).24kWh of Pylontech batteries with Lux controller BEV : Hyundai Ioniq50 -
Just scraped past average today 21.7kWhs or 3.89 Os.
Just 60kWh short of target, but next 4 days are messy guesses on the weather site.
Currently playing 'FIT roulette' as I haven't yet sent in my figures due in June. Might bottle it tomorrow!

5.68 O's for today; clear am. cloudy pm. Hope my post is correct, as I am an Inept person; according to KS ......2.5 kWp PV system, SSW facing, 45 Deg Roof. ABB Inverter, Monitor: 'Wattson'.

Afraid not an MSE area I often visit.
I think the best answer so far has been to fit a new thermostat.
I was in a similar position with an 'ordinary' fridge last year and found an eBay seller supplying them who just happened to also run an electrical spares shop in Chesterield.
Will try & find details later today & PM them to you.NE Derbyshire.4kWp S Facing 17.5deg slope (dormer roof).24kWh of Pylontech batteries with Lux controller BEV : Hyundai Ioniq50
