Back down to earth with 5.73 kWh today, weather much worse than forecast yesterday, lots of rain and we even had hailstones overnight! Tomorrow looking better.

Not much better here either only 7.12 O's. smiley-laughing021.gif

Actually looking back at two other quotes I had for Solar Panel installation they 1) estimated 2024 so It actually generated more :T

    The 2nd quote I had estimated 2060 :j

So it actually generated more then these two estimates :rotfl::j:T

This is only to make myself happy

All is not lost, I rekon your installer estimated 2,455 kWh per year & did not take into consideration any reductions ie the God Dam 'tree' (which he should have); my estimation was 2,046 kWh for a 2.5 kW system which works out at 818.4 O's per kWp per year; if you then times that, by your system size of 3 kWp it works out at 2,455.2 (bang on his estimate, but wrongly calculated, due to the GD tree). I appreciate that direction, roof pitch and area come into the equation but, Sheffield can't be that bad. smiley-laughing021.gif Oscar has a plan my friend. Will PM you in the next couple of days... :)

Hence, why O's are a great leveller. smiley-laughing021.gif
2.5 kWp PV system, SSW facing, 45 Deg Roof. ABB Inverter, Monitor: 'Wattson'.
Reg. for FIT Nov 2011. "It's not what you generate; it's how you use it that matters". One very clean Vauxhall Diesel Sri, £30.00 Road Tax: B)

Definition of 'O's = kWh/kWp (kWh = your daily & accurate Generation figure) (kWp = the rated output of your PV Panels).

Yet to find anyone without one (or at least a small one).

I bet your neighbour lies awake at night worrying that tree might blow on house and hoping that it catches Ash Die-back, Dutch Elm or some other more appropriate disease.

He may even be wondering how to get round a Tree Preservation Order . . . ?

    Sudden oak death?
Did you know that rhododendrons leaves give off a chemical that poisons other nearby plants but a big tree would agree to coexist.
My local council piled a heap of farm yard muck under the canopy of a listed fir tree, the survivor of a former rectory garden - that method might be too close to home.

It is still there only one year bigger now:

    26.25kWh yesterday for me.

In the past week I've only "bought" 45kWh from the grid, that equates to about £7ish give or take. I've generated about 150kWh'ish, that equates to about £70ish.

Don't you wish every week could be like that!

Interestingly one of my neighbours who have ASG panels has put his house up for sale this week, I shall be watching with interest as to whether it sells quick or not, it seems priced on the low side for our street, I wonder if that's because of the panels and their 20-25yr lease?

Note for newbies. ASG : A Shade Greener = one of the more self promoting "rent a roof" companies set up to profit from the Feed in Tariff.
For the first 25 years the house owner only gets the benefit of the "free" electricity from trying to run appliances at mid day when the sun is shining, plus the dribble of background consumption at other times during the daytime.

    Why is the neighbour moving?

Let us know what the buyers think of the situation.

Or maybe it is because of problem neighbours.....:rotfl:

Handily saved me a question there!

We got a grilling from mortgage company about the Panels but once they seen the paperwork that we owned them outright they weren't concerned. Have heard a few bad things about leased systems being difficult to get a lender
