I base my judgement on their track record (or lack of one ?).:D
Give me a break; that was merely my synopsis of gathering data from over 125 forecast sites for the morrow.....2.5 kWp PV system, SSW facing, 45 Deg Roof. ABB Inverter, Monitor: 'Wattson'.
Reg. for FIT Nov 2011. "It's not what you generate; it's how you use it that matters". One very clean Vauxhall Diesel Sri, £30.00 Road Tax:
Definition of 'O's = kWh/kWp (kWh = your daily & accurate Generation figure) (kWp = the rated output of your PV Panels).0 -
12.74 kWh today, 6.37 O's, still bumping along the top.2kWp Solar PV - 10*200W Kioto, SMA Sunny Boy 2000HF, SSE facing, some shading in winter, 37° pitch, installed Jun-2011, inverter replaced Sep-2017 AND Feb-2022.0

I return to my thread after best part of a year away and find people talking of Os and Es; I feel like a newbie! Don't know what an 'E' is (apart from the drug), but I've deduced that an O is the day's generation in kWh divided by the kWp. So, thick cloud from dawn to 5pm meant I made 8.95kWh today, which equates to 2.283 of your Os.
BTW, has anybody submitted any figures for wind or water wheel generation, or even solar thermal? I intended the thread to cover them, too.0 -

No doubt the 125 forecasters will have provided 225 forecasts !
But will any of them actually correlate with real life . . . . . ?NE Derbyshire.4kWp S Facing 17.5deg slope (dormer roof).24kWh of Pylontech batteries with Lux controller BEV : Hyundai Ioniq50 -
Hi Mart,
There are so many different things I would have done differently with my installation if I could turn the clock back!
I know exactly what you mean. Knowledge of inverters has grown dramatically, plus the range has improved. My ESE system is a pain with 1.2kWp of 5 Panels running through a very poor SB1200, and 2.4kWp of 13 panels running through a not so bad SB2500HF.
Finally (but too late now) after reading dozens of tech sheets, I've found an inverter that can cope with the two voltage extremes. Must stress not an advert, but it's a Samil again. So keeping an eye on peoples comments, as the prices are very competitive, so would like to swap out the two inverters for one with much higher efficiency as and when one of them dies.
With a little bit of luck, the more efficient inverters in 5 to 10 years time, will make up for some/most of the performance drop in the panels by then.
The insane generation continues with 33.3kWh's or 5.96 O's yesterday. Wow!
A few days ago I said there were no more targets (admittedly arbitrary!) to watch out for, but June +10% would nudge 700kWh's ..... hmmm too soon!
Mart.Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

Awful weather here yesterday. The fog finally lifted at 10am to make way for the clouds....
7.3kWh 3.65 O's
It's warm today but 100% cloud coverage again and rain forecast. Knew this would happen when I bought the kids a new sandpit0 -
