24.66kw today from 3.84kwp system split equally between due east and due west roofs (30 degrees). Only had the system a few days and there were some clouds around in Yorkshire today, so very impressed with the total.

Hiya, I'm similar with E/W (ish) split. Looks like your system is working well.

Right, yesterday got a respectable average day, with 21.1 (3.78 O's) and today got a second best, with 33.1 (5.93 O's). Lovely start to June with 86 units already. Please be better than last June, worst percentage, ever, and being June, worst loss too!

Bit of a rubbish day today, forecasts were wrong, panels had frost on them, her indoors did all the washing before 07:00; but just about managed to do the same as yesterday...Hay Ho..one of those days................... 6.96 O's.. smiley-laughing021.gif

Definition of 'O's = kWh/kWp (kWh = your daily & accurate Generation figure) (kWp = the rated output of your PV Panels).

looks like June is looking just as good so far and nearly twice as good as the rubbish June 2012.

Remember !!! One swallow doesn't make a summer

I share your hope that we'll have a sizzling June (and July and August :T ) but I'm not going to be the one who promised it. A lot can change over next few days (weeks).

At 'only' 25.6 kWh today perhaps I ought to be a bit disappointed

'Huge' improvement to 25.84 kWh today.

Happy - but not deliriously so.

Could somebody help me please? I forgot to make a note of my total just before the new rate applied on 1st April, which I now need to submit along with the figure on 31 May (which was 4696 kWh). Total on 28 February was 3636 kWh, so 1060 kWh need to be proportioned between the 31 days to 31 March and the 61 days thereafter. My 23° pitch is relevant, because a less steep pitch (such as Eric's) overtakes mine in efficiency at some point in that quarter, so not an easy calculation to make! Actually I'm really hoping Eric can answer this, as his proximity means similar weather conditions (although I suspect he is currently busy pouring over an atlas to ascertain if his array falls into that strange South Yorkshire 'hotspot'!)

Will PM you my actual readings.

However, they'll only be really useful if your quarter dates are exactly same as mine (15th Feb & 15th May). Tunnel is also nearby - maybe he has more convenient quarter dates or perhaps we have someone quieter also in the area ?

For a crude estimate, you can just take number of days between quarter date & April 1st AND those between April 1st and next quarter date and use them to pro-rata generation. This is probably what your FIT payer would do if you ignore the problem.

That alas assumes that generation would be same at beginning of quarter as at end of quarter - which just isn't true. You want a figure for the intermediate reading that assumes less generation in first few weeks than last.

I wouldn't dream of suggesting that you just "make one up" but you could perhaps pick a figure that gives you twice as much generation per day after April 1st as before April 1st ?

Best day ever today, perfect combination of cold and sun.

21.62kWh = 7.2 Os, better than any day before now.

We don't have perfect elevation and face SSW so I wonder how good it could be.

Out of interest what is the maximum O's that anyone has achieved?
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

I appreciate the prompt reply, Eric.
I think I'd be better off with somebody's March generation, then adjust by comparing systems. So, does anybody keep a record of calendar monthly production, please?

Well, that's significantly above my 23.40. It seems that even a slightly flatter roof like yours makes a big difference when the Sun is rising in the NE and setting in the NW.

So, is this 'Tunnel' character a little loud, then? :)

I am with British Gas and just follow their instructions for sending in my quarterly generation meter reading.
This is demanded roughly every 3 months from my date of registration with BG.

Well last year BG robbed me of £0.50 and this year more than of £2:eek:; presumably nobody told BG that we had almost no spring this year, not to mention the coldest Easter on record.

I am a bit reluctant to stir up the BG system by trying to submit an interim reading; it might cause hassle out of all proportion to the sums of money involved.

Is there anyone else with practical experience of the BG system ?

    Hi Kernal

Would it not be easier to put your system size and orientation into here as it gives your monthly expected totals
    http://re.jrc.ec.europa.eu/pvgis/apps4/pvest.php

Then just apportion the months according to your overall figure, ie if your total is similar to the estimate for the 3 month then just use march's figure.

I tried downloading my data this morning but my SMA isn't playing ball(too busy generatin):D

    Tunnel

PS Dare I say a "disappointing" 23.4 yesterday, could be on for a new record today though, forecast is for sun sun sun, fingers crossed:cool:
