Eta: I'm about 40 miles from Perth (Bo'ness) but figures look quite close to the ones I previously read

Hello again, just being fussy/pedantic, but I've just stuck a pin in 'Glebe Park' which came out at 1,650kWh's, and 'Douglas Park' which came out at 1,700kWh's, so the numbers look pretty solid. Next trick is for you to wait till the install date in August, then just divide the TGM reading by 2, that'll give a lovely 2 year average.

Just a thought, but back to roof loadings, I assume the house was built with Scottish snow loadings in mind, so 2kWp of PV ain't gonna make much difference.

    Have fun in the sun.

    Mart.

For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.

Same here, nice yesterday, and again today. Plus the cold air temp is boosting the gen figures. Got a new record yesterday of 31.3kWh's (beating you :p) but let's not compare O's @ 5.6 :o

    Mart.

31.3kWh:eek: I can only dream of generating that much :o

It's great to have the solar immersion now to try and soak up all this sun but unless i'm in having baths all day I still export and with limited reporting I'll never work out how much it saves...

 My 4kWp system was also installed in Aug 2011 but cost only £12,000. I'm not now as confident that your installer was quite as reputable as I assumed earlier !

Yeah, I have the receipt and judging by the name & logo they certainly would 't be a company I would have dealt with or had any faith in!
I'm not even that educated in the pricings etc but even I thought it was expensive!

    28.9 kWh yesterday.

This of course is the time of year when my 'too flat' roof is actually better than the 45deg pitch which is probably 'average'. Therefore hoping for lots of sun during next six weeks or so when this remains true.

Yesterday's generation curve was almost a perfect "bell shape". Alas, top of curve was 'only' 3.4 kW rather than the 4.1 I might have hoped for but I can live with the disappointment.

It can do no harm to ask them to quote for remote monitoring. Doubtful if you'd want to accept their quote but it should at least give you an idea of what it would cost and some extra information when talking to alternative suppliers.

FWIW, a Wattson meter would be rather less than £150 and reasonably easy to self install.

This might be a cheap option to consider - when I first installed my Eco Eye Elite which cost me less than £20, I attached the sensor to the 'wrong' cable and it gave me the Solar Generation read out as a live display but I didn't need it because I have the Sunny Beam for that. I clipped it to the correct cable and it gave me the electricity usage which was very useful.

A couple of weeks ago I was fortunate to buy a Wattson Solar Plus for £77 inc p&p, the seller had 3 available on Ebay buy it now. I have since purchased 2 Optiplugs. I have set them up and calibrated the plugs I got it right so it must be easy ;)

Of course, if you're happy to do the arithmetic yourself, you could get a couple of the 'free usage monitors' given away by most electricity boards (or often seen at car boot sales for very low cost) and clamp them round the appropriate leads.

    Now that's better,

    6.33 O's yesterday, & 6.42 O's today!

Still 21.33 O's short of climate target :(
Fiscally responsible or just a tight git? :

Trouble I found from distant past is they are so 'economical with the truth' they are not worth the bother; no wonder they 'give em away'.

Cracking day today 7.32 O's; beats 23rd of July 2012 which was my current best since install by 0.32 O's. smiley-laughing021.gifsmiley-laughing021.gifsmiley-laughing021.gif:j :rotfl: :T:)

Definition of 'O's = kWh/kWp (kWh = your daily & accurate Generation figure) (kWp = the rated output of your PV Panels).
