    ????
    surely you mean 12kWh = 3 Os ?

    12 Os would = 48 kWh!:D

    Of course I did...edited:D

Why bother ? The figure is of no benefit to you and you've included all the details required to calculate it in your autosig for anyone who wants to know.

I really don't see any use for the figure. Simply dividing daily output by system rating is far too crude to be a meaningful comparison between systems. Geographical location and roof angles are highly significant and local shading might be an issue; ignore those and you've no idea how well you're doing compared with another user.

Can it be not said that your above statement shows why O's level the playing field at least a significant amount? kWh, if I may remind you, does not take into account any of your above mentioned discrepancies either. At least O's Do's. to a degree smiley-laughing021.gif

Thank you Eric, you have just proved the point that O's are 'the best'.

    4.56 O's today....smiley-laughing021.gif

Definition of 'O's = kWh/kWp (kWh = your daily & accurate Generation figure) (kWp = the rated output of your PV Panels).

Similar conditions here legoman62, but pipped you with 15.6kWh (4.2 O's).

However I didn't get the FIT boost to the bank balance, that'll come next month: £398.36 earned to since last reading submission on 26th March.

But only to a very small degree !

It's almost akin to comparing mpg figures with a mate and deciding that you'd get a fairer result by dividing the figure by weight of car - but completely ignoring the fact that he spends all his time on motorways whilst you have to travel up and down hilly country lanes.

If you really want to compare one SP installation with another, perhaps you should try comparing actual output with that predicted by pvgis ?

    Hi

I agree, comparing generation totals on a short-timescale is really meaningless, the shorter the timescale the more meaningless it becomes ....

Consider really short timescales, the shortest being spot ... I'm getting 1.29kW now, no I'm not, it's 1.77kW now, now it's 925W, all within the time to write this sentence. Now look at hourly, one hour ago we were averaging ~300W with two hours ago ~600W. Yesterday was a good(ish) day for generation, we produced well over target, whilst others didn't ... on a straight kWh/kWp basis we almost doubled that of a friend's system, which has an almost ideal orientation and is less than 5 miles away. Directly comparing with averaged generation, some weeks we outperform, others we are outperformed, but inconsistency becomes less apparent when comparing monthly figures and even less when annual ...

It's good to compare generation and exchange information when exceptional conditions exist, but I can't see the need to post on a daily basis as it becomes meaningless due to there being no analysis .... some time ago someone set-up a MSE group on PVOutput (http://pvoutput.org/) so that comparisons could be made between MSE members' systems and thousands of other systems ..... there are other sites available, but these don't seem to have such a global reach, although PVOutput is currently heavily weighted towards Australian systems.

If anyone wants to compare long term, period or daily total generation to other systems have a look, if they want to compare & analyse, join - they could probably also place a link to their systems in their profile or signature for others to follow if interested .... it's really that simple ...

    HTH
    Z

Apologies to whoever setup the MSE group on PVOutput, I can't remember who it was and no longer see any reference to it on this site .... also, we're generating 396W now and it's just started to rain!

The pvoutput.org site has a column marked 'efficiency' both on the weekly overview and the daily analysis. This is the same as the Os.
