Renewables: "talking 'bout my generation"

Hi
Apologies to whoever setup the MSE group on PVOutput, I can't remember who it was and no longer see any reference to it on this site .... also, we're generating 396W now and it's just started to rain!
Apology accepted, I'd almost forgotten about it too! I haven't uploaded data in over a year, I should probably get round to that sometime! The group is here:

Were you responsible for setting up the MSE team on the PVOutput site ? .....
I tend to check the PVOutput site out every now and then to see how our long-term performance compares to average, but mainly check the panel calibrated test data against our own PVGIS target flexed against Met Office anomalies for our own location - If there was a house next door with a similar system (spec & orientation) then I might directly compare short-term performance with that on a regular basis, but anything else involves too many variables to take seriously ...

Looks like you answered my question to Dave then ....

So, yesterday got 27.3kWh's or 4.9 O's and today got 19.6kWh's or 3.51 O's.
Lots of silly numbers and predictions, just to confuse further:
Just a few kWh's under 0.5MWh for the month, so my first 1/2 Meg ever (in a month). Aug 2012 & Apr 2013 were both 491kWh's. On target for 630kWh's fingers crossed.
ESE system is currently predicting 2.5% over target, whilst WNW is predicting 10% over. So guess which end of the days have been a little better.
Current weather forecast for Sat & Sun is a solid sun (no cloud) every hour of daylight - so, that'll mean rain then!
Mart.Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.
For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.0 -
2.84 O's for me yesterday
Hope to to reach 5MWh total output by end of May:D16 Sanyo Hit 250s.4kWp SMA 3.8kWp inverter. SW roof. 28° pitch. Minimal shade. Nov 2011 install. Hybrid car. Ripple Kirk Hill. N.E Lincs Coast.0 -
Hi, how do you go about measuring the output?! As in, where do you look....
I.'ve bought a house with solar panels but Don't really know much about them.
I have a meter of some sort next to the ordinary electric meter, what would this be? (The meter reader said it was the solar meter)
I've just had my first electricity bill for this house, 142 units in 7 weeks amounting to £13.35 (£6 day & £8 night) before vat and charges. I'd say we were heavy users of electricity washing machine, tumble dryer & dishwasher on every day. I paid around £65 a month in the last house.
I had read that electricity savings would only be around £200 a year so just looking to see how I go about measuring how much we are generating0 -

Could be a good one; first question is do you own the panels or were they installed on a 'rent a roof scheme' ? If you own them then you need to submit a reading every 1/4 to the Feed in Tarrif provider. Leave it with that first question for the time being.
2.68 O's yesterday.
7.16 O's today........:)2.5 kWp PV system, SSW facing, 45 Deg Roof. ABB Inverter, Monitor: 'Wattson'.
Reg. for FIT Nov 2011. "It's not what you generate; it's how you use it that matters". One very clean Vauxhall Diesel Sri, £30.00 Road Tax:
Definition of 'O's = kWh/kWp (kWh = your daily & accurate Generation figure) (kWp = the rated output of your PV Panels).0 -
Yeah I do own them, FIT account is still being transferred into our name at the moment so waiting to hear back from British Gas.
The last reading was submitted 6/4 by the girl who sold us the house. It was her Dads house but he died so she didn't have much info on the panels to pass along to us.0 -
25kWh or 6.36 O's
Cheers
Edit, looks like another stunner today, pity i'm stuck the datacentre all day... again0
