she'd been out to the garage, up the ladder into the loft and checked the generation to make sure it was ok to put the dishwasher on.

Buy the lass a Wattson (or similar) for her next birthday.

I'd hate anyone to think I'm blaming the weather forecasters for not providing enough sun :rotfl:

Is your system broken Oscar? Or are you just getting lazy and can't be bothered to say if that's O's or kWh? Like to keep us guessing? That's not really fair on Shafeeq is it?:rotfl:

No, not at all, just getting lazy really, getting fed up with adding the (O's) bit. I have put my system size in my signature, what more is needed ? smiley-laughing021.gif But I do try to please, I will do this for the last time. As a point of no interest, when I submit my FIT return I do not put kWh; I just send a meter reading, thats all they want and they know how to work it out... smiley-laughing017.gif

    Does that nearly qualify for a 2.94 O's? smiley-laughing014.gif

3.32 O's today..... smiley-laughing021.gif Last two results were all in O's.....

Definition of 'O's = kWh/kWp (kWh = your daily & accurate Generation figure) (kWp = the rated output of your PV Panels).

I cannot get past first base: Let us fill the bl00dy thing before we turn it on.

However, that said having got permission from Wattson to turn it on, what happens when the shadow of a big black thunder cloud parks itself on the panels?

You still have to use a bit of 'old-fashioned' weather forecasting.

Check with meter that you have a 2kW export situation now (you probably need that for the washing machine's heater).
Check the state of the sky around the position of sun now (and where it will be in a couple of hours time).
Have a stab at guessing which way the clouds are moving.
If all well, turn on washer.

You could of course connect washer via a 'smart' plug that switches it off when generation drops.

    Hi

Alternatively, for short-term self forecasting have a look at the 'big picture' from a satellite in close to 'real-time' ... http://www.sat24.com/en/gb ... it gives a reasonable idea of what's happening to make a decision ...

Any one know if there is a web site that tracks the "jet stream" - the BBC showed it yesterday swooping South over the Mediterranean.

The misplaced jet stream got the blame for most of last summer for the wet weather - is this here we go again?

The BBC flashed it up over the weekend to explain that even this week the weather will not be back to average.

[What will it take for the doubters to agree that there is a man made climate change problem ? or am I displaying confirmation bias?]
    Hi John

The link in the last post (http://www.sat24.com/en/gb), when viewed for Europe, or the whole globe, also gives an idea where the Jetstream currently is ....
