and have a tank full of hot water and still only imported 0.8 kw so far today. Nice :D

    Edwink ;)

Hey, how are you confirming a full tank of hot water? I`d like to know how much I have after a nice day, but don`t use an iBoost so don`t have a digital display showing how much I`ve diverted.
Are you simply going by the boiler not kicking in later in the day for topping up DHW or is there another simply explanation?
Currently I just got one of them magnetic temperature gauges on the top of my tank to give me a rough idea if water temp.

    Thanks!

    Hi Shavy

We have an iBoost and on checking it during the morning it was heating the water up nicely. We import around 1-2kw of leccy a day as we are very light users and most of that is imported during the evening. So we have lots of spare generated leccy during the day and that is diverted to the water tank. While the sun was beaming on the panels yesterday I checked the iBoost again and it indicated water heating off. In other words no more water to heat up as it was all hot already. One of us had a bath last night and the other one had a shower and the water was very hot for both. We don't have a boiler at the house as we are now all electric.

Another person with an iboost, so I don't know of alternative ways of telling.

One small point: I manually control my water and put the gas boiler on constant for a short pwriod if I need it (after playing football in the winter, for example!). That way I avoid the boiler cycling and coming on when not needed.

I'm due a bill in the next few days and my winter gas bill should be less than £22. The June bill will be negligible (last year £1.76) as from now on heating season starts. I should mention that I'm on a zero standing charge tariff as it's worth my while.
