Couldn't start the petrol mower, no matter what I did, new fuel, cleaned plug, drill on flywheel - nothing.

Andy, my petrol mower is always difficult to awake from its hibernation, but for the first start of the year I've found it a great help to pre-heat the motor using either an electric heat gun or the wife's hair dryer. Both work equally well but there can be less domestic trouble using the heat gun. Don't overdo it, just a couple of minutes of fairly gentle warming does the trick. Works for me.

And I am confident that today will mark my second Hawaii of the year! Currently 6% up over yesterdays figure.

These two days go some way to making up for the poor generation at the beginning of the month. Still way behind PVGIS so far though!

I will try that next time I am able to bend down to that level. I have completely ruined my back currently :(

No Hawaii's here today - was a misty start this morning, but knew that would be the case as I observed it rolling in off the Bristol Channel last night.

Nice Typhoo in the bank, may hit 40 winks, maybe not.

System is just about winding down (20w output)

After a foggy start, just over 40 winks!

    4.03 O's (15.8 kWh)

    Still an ok result.

After what felt like a greyish Easter, two grey mornings today and yesterday that broke through into two successive Hawaiis - and the mower came out of hibernation and started first time, as it has every year for the last fifteen (and it was secondhand then!).
So the good news is that once again I don't have to buy a new mower. The bad news is that I have to sharpen the blades in situ as they have been stuck since I tried to remove them late in the last century....

Another good day. More clouds than yesterday, but still nice and warm.
    5.3 O's.

Bit early in month to be talking PVGIS target, but... average 14.6kWh per day so far, against a target of 13.5 kWh. Considering the dodgy figures over the weekend, I don't think that's too bad.
4kw (16X250w Sharp). Samil Solar River 3680 TL inverter.

    4.54 O's (18.03 kWh)

Started well sailing along till midday. Lost about 6 to 7 kWh between 12:00 and 15:00

Must not grumble. Only 5.4 kWh down on my estimate. smiley-happy119.gif
