I've had a similar problem with my rotovator this week. I drove it into my machinery shed last autumn but have just spent a couple of days persuading it to start.
There are only three things that will stop a petrol engine from running : blocked air filter, lack of fuel or lack of spark ....
Not condensation, but had similar problem with our Hayter 4stroke when trying to start after overwintering a number of years back .... after much frustration the solution was to either take it in for a service or try some Redex first .... quite a bit of smoke initially as the gunk burned but no service needed ...
.... everyone seems to be a little ahead of us this year, haven't even dusted the mower down yet, been too busy clearing tonnes of moss from the patio ...

Don't worry about it, your time will come....:)But I'm still puzzled why it happened.
If you want to be of a sure start in Spring; last cut, switch fuel off and let engine run until it stops. Drain all fuel off from tank and place it in your car, assuming it's petrol driven. In Spring of following year, put in fresh fuel. Job done.:rotfl:

I'll just carry on parking the rotovator (and another half a dozen bits of kit with similar engines) up in Autumn and hope for the best in Spring. If one of them fails next year, I'll try & remember to check fuel for water before stripping down the magneto etc.NE Derbyshire.4kWp S Facing 17.5deg slope (dormer roof).24kWh of Pylontech batteries with Lux controller BEV : Hyundai Ioniq50 -
