superdrug 10p items thread

Hi, I just have joined this forum, and I have an interesting experience to share!
No wonder I can't find any good bargains at the Superdrug Kilburn London branch (yes, it's London Karma again). I popped in this morning and this is what I found instead of 10p bargains! Basically the employees were hiding all the good bargains in a box behind the counter and when till wasn't busy they checked them out themselves. I was amazed that one employee was buying at least 50 items in front of me. I asked the other cashier what he was buying and she said it is on the shelf over there and nooooo of course they were not on sale at the shelves because he was buying them all. I was so disgusted at the employees behind this scheme because there were a few more shopping bags hiding behind the counter! So I was wasting my time after reading this thread hoping for some good bargains.
I think your remarks are uncalled for.
The staff in the store have every right to purchase the goods. Why shouldn't they? As an employee myself, I know how hard we work for the minimum wage we are paid. I don't see why there is anything wrong with staff members buying a few 10p items as a minor perk now and then. After all, they still have to pay for the items - the same as a standard customer would...
My store has loads of reductions at the moment, as we are clearing out before the new year. The only things we had a 'first refusal' over were some 10p hair clips. About three of us bought one each and the rest went out onto the shop floor with the rest of the reductions. There is nothing unfair about that.0 -
Poole, Bournemouth and wimborne stores do not put 10p bargains out.0

I got some hair clips today for 10p, also 5 packs of hair rollers for 10p each-they had the same packs of curlers on the main shelf at £2.85ish each with but slightly different packaging. Bargain!0

I wasn't talking about employee was allowed buy a odds few items here. It was more like 50-100 items hid behind the counter and they were not available on the shelves at all.
ALSO They were making their BIG transaction (yes 50 items for £5,great!!) during their working hour in their uniform leaving normal customer's que building up.
It is nothing to do with working for minimum wages, does anyone called this is a good customer service ?0 -
