We have a "semi arid" climated here in thsi part of the SE and places such as large swathes of Australia, have considerably more annual rainfall on average than we do.
Improved collection, improved storage, less wastage by the water companies and by households all need to be addressed.
We have had three very dry winters in a row so its no great surprise, although enjoyed the chuckle about the eco warriors and the deny-it-all-exists-brigade. Preservation of the earths natural resources is probably the most key issues facing the world - wouldn't think anyone can deny that one0 -
4 pages later and the solution is still as simple as it was on page 1. If you charge more for a scarce resource, people will use it less.
Completely agree. In my view everyone should have a meter and charges should be staggered; a low price per unit for the first x units (basic sanitation and drinking water should be cheap) and higher charges thereafter.
Give people the option of choosing how to use their water instead of imposing a ban on one specific thing (which they only choose because it's outdoors and something they have some chance of policing).
It's like saying that there are electricity shortages so no-one is allowed to use a hairdryer.0
