Sorry for being annoying but I really could do with some help here, guys.

Everyone seems to rave about going diy but it doesn't seem to be working that well for me.

It's the flights really that are bumping the price up. £350 each!! I bet you could get a 2 week holiday last minute for that!

SO I'm wondering if going last minute is my best option. OR. Go for the explorers deal, about £500 for a week, including a £200 scuba diving course. So roughly £300 for 1 week B&B.

may be of interest - flights are 300 - but hotels start cheap - use tripadvisor as a steer to what you want.

Last minute package may end up cheaper tho...

DIY works out well if you can book flights a long time in advance or very last minute to certain destinations. You might find a package is the way to go.

Yeah it's probably too late to book a cheap flight and too early for a late deal

Have you looked on Teletext/ceefax? They usually have some last minute holidays on there.

Right. Thanks to skr80 for the brilliant comparison website. Following trips to thomas cook, who quoted us £1600 for the cheapest b and b, and other travel agents who quoted similar prices, we've decided to go for early june (providing work will allow me to swap hols!)

Cheapest flight = £260 each - freedom flights (any good?)

Now comes the hard part - which hotel? I've been looking through all inclusive and b and b - I can't decide which to go for. And they all seem to have at least one bad review. How on earth do you decide?

I reckon B and B would be more practical. We're gonna be scuba diving at least 4 days of the holiday so that's 4 days not using a service we've paid a lot more for. Plus, scuba diving aint cheap - we need a nice hotel for as cheap as possible.

    Any more suggestions...

Definately go B&B... It's really cheap to eat out in Sharm and lots of choice so why pay to be stuck with hotel food only?

If you can stretch to it, have a look at the Hilton Waterfalls. I've been there and it is gorgeous 5 *, good breakfast included, staff are great and the snorkelling & diving off the jetty is fantastic. Dive school onsite.

The Hilton website is showing £38.22 per night for a twin room at the
beginning of June. Not bad for a 5 star. Look at the reviews on Trip Advisor.

If that's too expensive, try the Halomy hotel in Namma Bay, again right on the sea front, good snorkeling off the jetty. Its 3* so dont expect the Ritz but the review are pretty good, staff friendly and you can walk down the steps in Namma bay where you are spolit for choice for places to eat, shops etc.

If I was looking to book a cheapy deal then I would go for the Halomy. Travelrepublic is the cheapest site I've found for cheaper hotels.

I've been to Sharm twice recently and I love it. The weather, the sea life, the food and the people are fantastic too.

Any other questions just ask. You will find I'm a regular on the trip advisor Sharm forum. :D

hi again. As I mentioned before, the Hilton Dreams in Sharm is my favourite hotel - better than the Movenpick (nicer breakfast, rooms, and closer to the beach - which again has a nicer private area)

If you are into diving - this is a centrally (naama bay) hotel that caters for divers and has a good bar as well!!

Priced up hilton waterfalls - £291.34 each. A bit over our budget, but cheap compared to prices in england for a 5 star! I can't believe how cheap accomodation is over there.

I got a price of £200 for 4 star All inclusive - st george three corners.
The cheapest for a good b and b is about £100 each. So is it worth paying another £100 or so and having all inclusive? I have heard that the food is repetetive at most all inclusive hotels in egypt, though.

Have you been all inclusive there before? I'm just thinking about all those free drinks :) Which hotels have you been to in sharm?
