Holiday to Egypt, July, Suggestions?

Hi. I posted a similar post last year but didn't end up getting to egypt!

I've booked 2 weeks off work, July 30th to August 12th. I wanna go to egypt for 2 weeks with a friend, and include some scuba diving.

Explorers offer a cheap deal for £400, 1 week at Ocean Bay / Ocean Club, flights, and a £125 Scuba Diver course.

It's quite good... But from what friends have told me, I know I can get a better hotel for less by going last minute or DIY.

So... This is the first holiday I've ever booked, always gone away with parents before! Am I better off waiting for a cheap deal and getting scuba diving when I get there... Or booking flights and hotel seperately (if so, how do you get cheap flights to egypt? I got prices like £1000 when I tried.)
Or is the £400 deal a good one? It's just it's only for a week and they won't do a similar deal for 14 days...

Any help would be much appreciated.

I think Sharm el Sheikh would suit me pretty well.

Thanks!!

  • What airports can you fly from?
Whats your budget for the 2 weeks?either per person or a total for you both?

Erm.. Budget is around £400 - £500 each. Cheaper the better really, neither me or my friend earn an awful lot.
And the cheaper it is, the more scuba diving we can do :)

I'd love to fly from Doncaster (where I live) but don't think you can for egypt?

Would be relying on a lift from a parent I guess so not too far from doncaster! East midlands, manchester, etc...

  • I used to work for a travel agent & the only advice i would give you is to check out the hotel carefully as some as sharm, naama bay etc hotela are classed as the resort but are maybe 10 k or so out of the resort with nothing in the vicinity so you could be stuck in the hotel. I havn't been, this was just feed back from clients.

one think that was recommeded was the quadbiking in the desert.

    happy holidays

Thanks but those don't sound too cheap :(
I would LOVE to go all inclusive, never done that before.

I have a couple of vouchers for £150 off, are they any good? You choose a hol from thomson etc then ring this company up and get the money off... Seems a bit weird to me.

Your not going to get 2 weeks all inclusive at peak season within your budget,no where near..The quotes i gave you were some of the cheapest that are around at the mo.You have to remember holidays are more expensive to start with during school holidays.

I love a challenge. If I can get cheap flights I'll be sorted - accomodation is pretty cheap when you pay seperately.

You've got me 2 prices there for £500, 2 weeks. I'm sure I'll be able to get all inclusive for £500 if I go for a late deal? Or DIY
