    Why do you assume the carer wants to look at animals? I love animals, a trip to the zoo is an ideal day out for me but I can't go without a carer; my carer is my mum and she would rather watch paint dry than go to a zoo, she has no interest in animals at all, she is there purely to look after me.

    Oh and just to point out, if I took a magic pill tonight and woke up perfectly able bodied tomorrow, as a 23 year old adult I would much prefer to go to the zoo on my own than with someone who isn't enjoying it as much as me so just because my carer is a family member does not mean they would be going with me anyway. I accept that disabled children would not be going on their own, obviously.
