Im not sure Ive said anywhere that this place is the devil incarnate :( but I have known more facilitating places to visit :)
You haven't but there have been threads on here where companies have been villified for refusing to offer free carer entry. Unfortunately there are people who want the moon on a stick and go off on a mega-rant when they don't get it

I've never got in free anywhere, uponahill. I've always found the person with a disability pays full price, the carer gets a reduced rate or goes free.

'Concessions' are now mostly students and OAPs, not disabled people.

That is a thought - why do students and OAPs get a cheap deal when most are better off than me? :D

Exactly!! It's all discrimination of one sort or another!!

In my opinion everyone (excluding children ) should pay the full adult price, be it wheelchair pushers, 90 year olds, unemployed, the disabled, those on the sick and of course the students.

Absolutely but I will continue to post details of those companies that do provide extra facilities and give concessions, and likewise the companies that dont.

Im not sure Ive said anywhere that this place is the devil incarnate :( but I have known more facilitating places that offer substantial discounts to visit :)

As the other poster has said, why do people expect to have a discount wherever they go and whatever they do?

It's the same old argument that people expect to be able to park their car for free if they have a Blue Badge.

    Talk about trying it on.

My wife is over 65 yet she flatly refuses to even ask for an OAP consession!!

I'm not ignorant, I myself am a DLA claimant and believe that the DLA is to pay for the additional incidental expenses. I don't go to places on the basis that my carer can get in for free; I go to where I want and pay for myself and my carer.

I don't 'imagine' how far my DLA will stretch, I budget very carefully to make sure it does.

Thanks, at least there are a few of us that try to lead a 'normal' life and pay our way instead of looking which attraction offers the best reductions!!

Thank you - another person that doesn't expect the world to stop and find that 'sweeties' drop from heaven just because of a disability.

Woah that chip must be weighing heavy on your shoulder.

The reason I like free parking when using our blue badge is because it takes us longer to go around than able bodied people, therefore I dont see why we should be penalised for taking longer than others when its out of our control. Fair enough if its a flat rate for parking, Ill happily pay that but not at a time controlled car park.

And I never said I 'expect' anything, in fact several times Ive reiterated this so just for the hard of understanding I shall repeat it once more: its not expected but a bonus when its given

I have a season ticket for myself and my son who is 16 for anna,s zoo or manor house as i know it and there was no concession for me as a carer, personally i think that there should be as a "normal" 16 year old wouldnt need his mother to accompany them to see some animals.
But i paid it because my son loves to go there......

From another side, a zoo isn't like a theme park or anything - the carer can look at the animals too, it's not like somewhere with attractions where they'll be unable to use them due to caring (I realise zoos sometimes have extra bits but they're an extra, not the whole point typically).

God knows but it annoys me too!!! I have never once gone for the carers go free when I take my son to places.I always pay because I am his family and I would be going anyway.I also don't see why I should get in free.I will never use the carers concession and never used a disabled one for entry either!
