You should include the sort code and account number.

One without the other isn't much use.

Ok thanks. It's just the form doesn't ask for the sort code so wasn't sure. :)

I was going to ask the same question about the address. After reading this thread I'm just going to use the Leeds address too. For the phone number I'm going to put 08457 26 36 46 which I found here http://www.halifax.co.uk/contactus/callus.asp

What did you do about the sort code? Did you add it or not?

Hi, i put the sort code on as well as the account number, even though it does not ask for it but like you, i thought they would need it.

I have sent the form off now, ill let you know what happens.

It has become apparent that you need to fill out a form to transfer a Halifax ISA to another Halifax ISA. You can't do this over the phone or online. Is this a fact that should be stated more prominently to Halifax users and their staff or is it a lucky dip scenario, where some staff can do it and others can't.

This was the case after they became part of the Lloyds Banking Group, but I understand this has now been rectified.

You can transfer/upgrade your existing Isa via www.halifax.co.uk/isaoptions or call, however as in my case if your uprgrading to the Isa Saver Online they will ask if you have done it online via the link above in the first instance.:T

Just completed a Nationwide transfer. They wanted the account number, sort code and name of provider.

I'd imagine the Halifax ISA managers address is pretty much well know in the industry.

I attempeted to transfer my existing Halifax ISA today to another Halifax ISA. The online info on the Halifax website is appalling so I spoke to an adviser (well 3 of them in the end). None of them seemed to have grasped the fact that you can only invest in one ISA at any one time and were prepared to allow both ISAs to remain open.

I think one of them has managed to transfer the ISA over but apparently I have to write in or visit a branch to close the old one. This is appalling service from Halifax, amateurish and dangerous. What sort of training are they giving their staff?

My Halifax ISA has had correspondence come with a whole assortment of addresses at the top. However the actual statements seem to consistantly show the same address. It is the address of a local Halifax branch, not quite the nearest branch, but one in a nearby city.

So I gave that address, on the assumption that at least it is a real branch, so mail going there is likely to be responded to in a more flexible and responsive manner than some PO Box.

What I wanted to do with the Halifax was to open a fixed rate ISA and move some of the money from a variable rate Halifax ISA ,without transfer restrictions/penalties, into the new fixed rate ISA. The funds are from previous tax years. No contributions for this tax year are involved. This is a transfer of funds and not a re-designation. It should be simple.
