I believe that you are correct
The, eventual, plans appear to be to replace all/most benefits with one "UC" - But this will NEVER happen - it would be too costly to look into every single benefit and convert them - so they are picking on the easiest to start with - the DISABLED !!

The DISABLED won't/can't complain / go on strike (anyway - not a single one of them works) / they are ALL scroungers and don't deserve a penny from "normal" human beings !!
Besides - the rest of the voters despise the scroungers - so the government will win "brownie points" from them !!

    (Thats what they think.)

Maybe it has dawned on the government that ESA and DLA claimants are the most likely to be making exagerated and untrue claims!!

And besides, they are the easiest to target as their living standards depend on benefit income.

I have just realised what I have said. People's living standards depend on benefit income - what a sad state we have come to if that is correct.

Any standard of living is determine by ANY income..... Ridiculous to link it to benefits!

Fraud on JSA is well over double fraud on DLA.

Sorry but that is one subject I refuse to get to know! I'm not interested - I'll be 65 in 2014 so its one for the bin unfortunately.

Am I so glad that I'm not 30 years younger - it is only now that I realise how good the 60's to the 90's were to us.

I lived in a better country, had more freedom and houses/jobs were plentiful.

Everyone that I know owned two homes, secure employment - changing jobs every 3/4 years to improve prospects and salary.

We had the best that this country has ever been able to offer.

Roll on 2014 and I draw my State Pension currently at £183.87 a week and two fingers up to the rest of them!

Many thanks Richie. Will the change to UC affect my mum who is reaching retirement age and is bad with her nerves. She currently gets IB, DLA and has her housing costs paid.

    - tell me at which date your mum retires and I'll try to answer you !

    - correct
    - DLA will be PIP by time UC [16-64 year olds] comes into being.
