I know! Couldn't believe it was pitch black at 7.30 last night! I'm sure it was only five minutes ago I was still gardening at 10pm
Good luck with the viewing...5 -
I've really felt the nights/mornings closing in too ... it seems to accelerate, doesn't itGlad the puddy cat is warming up to you, madvix2023: the year I get to buy a car4

Cheery, I can't quite believe how fast this year is going, even though at times it has really seemed to drag! Karma, yes, it's nice to be appreciated by the puddy cat - he does know me, but only ever sees me when his servants are away, so I guess it's a bit confusing.
Ended up with two viewings this afternoon. Agents did one and then I did the second. According to DH who lurked in the garage (I went for a walk for the first one), the first couple weren't here very long. The second pair seemed nice and engaged with the house, but they were viewing 9 properties today (up from London). Still, I'd rather we made the place immaculate and got two out of the way at once!
I've just switched my TSB account for an RBS Select one... although I've not actually received any confirmation emails yet.... Should get £100 for that. (I don't have DDs going out of that account so couldn't be bothered with any of the other fancier options, and wouldn't have qualified for HSBC anyway). Was slightly under on my £1500 balance in TSB, so have just transferred £1.75 thereso that the amount switched covers the funding requirement. That left me with an unrounded number in my (actual) current account, so obviously have transferred the other £8.25 to savings
Depending on what offers are around after the bonus is paid, I'll have to see what I do with the account. The money may just end up with Skipton - simplification seems in order as there's no interest to be had.
Looking forward to a quiet night now the house is tidy!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Morning all,
Have just finished the only bit of work that I had (more is sure to turn up soon though). Have been for my final visit to cat-sitting charge and he was very friendly - led me into the living room so he could have head rubs. I love getting paid for playing with cats!
Still no confirmatory email from RBS... will see what the next few days bring in terms of post, although it definitely said I should have had an email.
As work is quiet, I'm thinking I might pop down and see Mum - although having been out and about so much at the weekend I may wrap up warm and stay in the garden! I have an RM survey item to post later - am thinking that the stamps are definitely going to come in handy this Christmas.
Saw a news article this morning about encouraging people to do their Christmas shopping early so that queuing can be avoided and it doesn't overload the delivery companies. That's fine, but what do you get people who you might not see and who might not be able to do anything for months? (We don't tend to buy much 'stuff' for people, usually vouchers for activities or edibles...) I am going to make a start on thinking about it - and the nieces will get some 'stuff' so I can make a start on that.
MS things:
* Cat sat
* RM posting to do
* Clicks done
* Heating still off (obviously!)
* Dinner tonight is going to be cereal or something simple - DH isn't feeling great and wants bland food. We've got loads of milk, so that's fine. Pancakes for lunch, maybe, depending on if I go to Mum's or not.
Gratitudes:
* After a wet and windy start the sun has come out!
* It's snuggly jumper weather
* House is clean and tidy
Have a good day all!

All sounding good, madvix. I saw that article about Christmas shopping to be done early, and its a good point
but like you, I mainly buy consumables. This year, as I'm celebrating getting an income again, I'll be upping what I spend - so vouchers come into play too. A long life until expiry seems important - my brother tends to get race days/ the odd helicopter trip from his sons, I could work with that

Thanks Karma. Yes, there's just the small issue of whether the companies will keep going until things can get back to 'normal' with vouchers though. Those vouchers sound lovely, although rather expensive (in keeping with the early adoption of a Tesla, I imagine!).
Had a lovely long walk with Mum around the Repton parkland near her. The windy was very refreshing - it certainly feels like autumn is here now. She fed me lunch afterwards, and I did go inside (I may have blown away otherwise!), but we definitely kept away from each other and I wore my mask before we ate - just so worried about passing something on.
Back now and RM survey packs have arrived as has more work.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

You're right on the expensive/Tesla buyer thing - both his boys who live in London have mega careers, and their wives do too.2023: the year I get to buy a car3
