Morning all,
We had a lovely long weekend away - lots of lovely food, long walks, sunshine and even a spot of paddling yesterday.We managed to charge the car for free on several occasions too, which is always good
(Thanks Liz
(Sandringham has a free charger and we called in twice as we were staying just down the road). All spends will be met from our holiday fund.
Back to reality now and I'd love to say I'm feeling refreshed but the cats decided to spend the night crying and 'singing' to celebrate their home-coming.... In any case, I have work to be doing. Hope to get out to enjoy the last of the weather and do some garden tidying later. The two viewings (Thursday evening and Friday) came to nothing - one just didn't like the layout (fair enough) and the other it was too close to the school where she works - could she not have looked at Google maps first? Honestly, some people are such timewasters!
MS things:
* Cat sitting this week
* RM posting to do/done last night (also have a pile of DH's ebay parcels to send when he's finished prepping them)
* Clicks done
* PA survey done
* Vouchers used for meal while away and discount code used for returning takeaway last night
* Free charging for the car
Gratitudes:
* Lovely walk on the beach yesterday
* Main hotel was lovely, staff very friendly and everything clean and safe-feeling (the same could not be said for the Travelodge, where I had to clean the chrome toilet flush button as it had fingerprints all over it and the kettle was grimy around the top).
* Fantastic weather!

I think it’s a bit different if you’rea teacher though - effectively you’re putting on an act all day long and if you live that close to the school you’d potentially have pupils as neighbours, meaning you’d never be able to relax/escape them, so I do understand that. But not sure why she couldn’t have done her research first!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Aah, that makes more sense - plus, she might have a secret penchant for nudism I suppose. Totally agree on the research though, and you'd think if she's going to work there every day she might just have a bit of knowledge about the vicinity anyway!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Glad the holiday went well, madvix - beach walks and paddles are wonderful, aren't they! And Sandringham's the one in Norfolk, isn't it? Fantastic place!
2023: the year I get to buy a car3 -
Morning all,
Thanks KCYes, it was so nice to have a change of scene. I love the sea - could spend for ever watching it. I find it so calming (and even on rough wintry days I find it compelling). Yes, Sandringham is in Norfolk - in 1976 (?) the Queen donated several hundred acres as a country park. So you can visit the parkland for free and there's some lovely trails through it (if you park in one of the park car parks parking is free, but because we wanted to access the charger we parked at the visitors' centre, so paid a little bit. Had a look in the shop, but my goodness, I can't imagine they'll sell much this year - £6 for a 75cl bottle of apple juice! Prices were definitely aimed at the American and Japanese tourists - I can't imagine recession-hit Brits paying the prices for what was in there. I don't mind paying a little bit more for something, especially if it's been grown on the estate or whatever, but they prices were extortionate!
This morning (around work), I've switched various regular payments (milkman/Riverford etc.) to my MBNA horizon card instead of my Virgin one - I don't need any more Virgin miles and I get cashback on the Horizon card. I can't remember exactly what, but it's quite good as they changed an old card to this (it's not available generally) and made it appealing to keep our custom. It's good for travelling too (haha!). I've added the details to my Apple wallet and password manager, so will try to use this when I can't use Amex in future. (I should have done this some time ago.... ). Bread is also ready to go in the oven and I've done several PA surveys.
MS things:
* Clicks etc.
* PA surveys
* 1P surveys
* Bread
* Cat sitting
Gratitudes:
* My furry charge let me stroke him this morning
* Good evening class last night, despite my late preparation
* Fresh bread
Have a good day all!

Ugh, what a dreary day. I've not yet managed to go for my lunchtime walk. And with the news being pretty depressing it's easy to see how this could be a very long winter.
It's so dark here now I really ought to put a light on.... and it's raining so hard I may have to take the car to see the cat!
Have withdrawn £2.69 from Quidco.... And had the email from TSB about their 0% interest rate. So it's time to think about switching that account (and putting the money in Skipton?). Also have a YG survey to do this evening.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Morning all,
The sun is shining again here this morning (literally as well as metaphorically!). Have been out for a walk to feed the cat (I did go by car in the end last night), have done two YG surveys and a PA survey and downloaded 'the app'. RM survey items have just been entered too. Work continues to arrive - the torrent has become a more manageable stream now, which is good. We have a viewing later today too, so need to get the house tidy for that.
MS things:
* Clicks done
* YG surveys
* 1P survey
* PA survey
* Dinner from stores - last night was b'nut squash risotto, tonight will be use-it-up stir fry as there's some bits lurking at the bottom of the fridge that need eating (veg box was delivered this morning)
* £4.17 TT to savings
Gratitudes:
* Cat is warming up to me and loves to play
* Good quiz last night, even if we came last
* Woke up early this morning, so it felt like a lie-in even though we were up earlier than normal! (But it was dark at 6.15! What happened to summer)
