Then again, I do wonder whether a simple surgical collar style "pillow" such as Kiro or Embrace collars are not really the way forward as they prevent the head falling forward which is what kills my neck. :)

I wonder if you'd get more attention from the flight crew because they'd think you'd have a sprained neck ? :rotfl:

It is strange how seating effects people differently. For me, it is more because the headrest is too far back and at a really uncomfortable angle, which means I end up with my head tilted back.

So, for me, I think I need more of a neck pillow than a chin support. :o

Inflatable one was awful so threw it away and now use a cheap one filled with polestyrene beads which I like.

I have this one and it fantastic, best one ever, slept all the way back from Vegas in the cheap seats with this, fully supported, no neck pain, no head lolling about, no neck sweat , just comfortable on every level. Comes in a little bag and can be neatly packed away.

So I'd go for memory form, firm and well made if you can't find one of these.

I'm thinking of trying a cheapo inflatable one. I might get my mum to knit me a cover for it. :p

I have one of these Jet Rest pillows which I love but will admit that it is a little bit bulky in hand luggage but maintains it's shape.

I also have a micro-bead filled one which is nearly as good but a bit more sweaty.

Given that in-flight comfort whilst sleeping in an economy seat is the objective, I might well be adding the likes of a skyrest pillow to my arsenal. :)

If in any kind of economy seat it should be good to use slumped forward, and I like the idea of being able to rest a kindle, tablet, book, at a more sensible viewing height. Also as I have opted for a couple of Eco Comfort bulkhead seats with legroom lately, it would be ideal for raising legs for folk who do not carry on a case style carry on bag. :)

OK...for someone who finds leaning forward is better for sleeping in an economy seat, this may be the best thing ever...but how long must it take to blow that thing up? Would I be at my destination before it's fully inflated? :)

To be honest, I agree and think I would be more inclined to use an inflatable type. What I don't want though is to spend 13hrs with a pillow made of "beachball" material round my neck (albeit most are a "flock" material) - although given the product, is there really any escape from this?

Ours are flocked, and they are OK...I don't recall feeling overly hot using them - and they don't feel plastic-y against your skin...but as I said, they are not as nice as the big smooshy ones with the silicone beads in them, but we almost alwasy get those out on the spare room bed when we're packing, and end up leaving them as we just cannot be bothered to cart them around (we bought them at an airport, at a shop near our gate, so no issues the first time, we just rarely use them now)...so while they've been great the few times we have used them, better than the inflatable ones, we actually use the inflatable ones more as they are so much less bulky.
