    So in reply to !!!!!!:

This isn't just any "upper-crust nursery training school"
Those weren't my words, but other peoples opinions found on t'internet
Times, Guardian and even a Parliamentary briefing paper to name but a few

However it is still a training school where independent means are needed to enable you to attend due to the course costs.

If you're talking about becoming a Norland nanny, they offer a bursary scheme for some prospective students once they have been offered a place. It's all on the website.

The other thing to consider, is if all of the other students are of independent means, how will you be able to fund the social side of things if you are struggling to pay your fees?

Alternative is to find a job, save for a couple of years and then apply so that you will be self-funding.
  • My independent needs arn't overally important, as I will be living at home and my home is in the middle of nowhere. So i'm not overally fussed about socialising.

I think your right about the job, if I could bring regualr income in as well as studying that could be possible.
  • I think the best way to deal with this is to get a job along side the course.

Have you worked out how many hours a week (probably at NMW) you would have to work to make up the shortfall?
Based on a rough 40 week educational year then you are talking of 25 hours a week on top of your course.

    .

I think that you might find that socialising and networking with other students would be very helpful in getting you the sort of job that people do the Norland training for.

I also think that you might find yourself very much the poor relation in your situation wohich could be very difficult.
