Not your average uni fee!!! HELP!!!

I intend to go to a well known "School" (I'm calling it a school as I'm not sure whether you can name the uni/college that you intend to go to). But it is highly respectful in it's profession which comes at an ugly price.
The course is four years long but the fees change after two years.
The course fees are as follows:
Year 1 and 2: £4,570 per term x3 (as there are three terms as year) = £13,710. x2 (as this is two years cost) £27,420.
So the first two years are £27,420.
(each year £13,710)
Year 3 and 4:
are £1,800 a year. x 2 (for the two years) = £3,600.
Plus a uniform cost of £800.
My total cost to going to "School" is £31,820.
Although it isnt comfirmed yet, from the Student Loans company via directgov.co.uk I am entitled to:
My tuition loan is £6,000. (per year)
My maintenance loan is £2,843. (per year)
This means that I have to pay the remaining £7,710 (a year).
So my question is:

Ask the school how other students have funded the course - I'd doubt you're the first to find yourself in this position.0

That's a hell of a lot of money to be a nannyThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Have you considered a nanny/child care course at college?
A relative of mine did this and has travelled the world in this field(includ the likes of film directors in the USA) Yes the 'school' you are looking at is prestigious but you can get qualifications a lot cheaper and then move onto getting experience, if you are any good at it, it will show and you will not have any issues with getting well paid work.0 -
I have applied for college courses. But this " school " has world wide recognition and I will definitely be able to get a job. The college I have applied for is a back up plan of I don't get the grades for this " school " /:0

Why do you think one of the names for this college is "the world's most upper-crust nursery training school"?sosimplysophie wrote: »But this " school " has world wide recognition and I will definitely be able to get a job.
You need independent means as well to do the courses here, Unless you can find an extra £7k per year for the first 2 years course fees plus extra money to augment your maintenance loan (2,800 isn't even going to cover your accommodation of the standard expected by this place) then this is a non-attainable dream. Accommodation and living isn't a problem. I live close enough. It is possible. I just want to know where I can safetly find the money for the course.0

Obviously you have to do what you want and I honestly don't know where you might get extra funding for it.
Seriously though, consider college I know an agency that is crying out for qualified nannys and I don't mean for qualified nannys from a school that has 'world wide recognition' and if it is your intent/wish to work abroad in this field you can do this too without paying extortionate fees.
When I see the wages on offer for some of the jobs going(for college type qualified nannys) I half wish I had done a nanny course0 -
Good luck, you are going to need it to achieve your dreamThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
