We went to A Pizza Express at The Outlet centre in Ashford kent last week, two salads and a bottle of coke £23, the coke £ 2.35. My choice I know but my wife said well we don't do it very often I said and we won't be doing it again, MacDonalds was only 50 yards away.

£23 for 2 salads and a bottle coke, you definitely got fleeced there, it would have been cheaper to get 2 salads and a bottle of coke from a supermarket.

Just looked at the menu and its £10 for a salad, you can eat 2 for 1 on wednesdays for £10 and get change.

£10 for a flipping salad

I always have a b*itch and a moan when getting a £1.89 salad at Morrisons! For £10 i'd want gold flakes on the top!

Gosh, my little experience provoked an eclectic mix of comments, after all it was my first visit to said eatery and it will be my last, the word does get around and I suspect pizza express will lose custom through this sort of greedy practice. Armed with an array of discount vouchers, bogof's ect is the way to go I suppose.

I find that not eating is cheaper than eating, how's that for a helpful comment? :)

I think people forget what this forum is for, a vent often isn't asking for advice and certainly not being told you're the idiot, it's just letting off steam.

I am sure we have all found ourselves paying over the odds for something and with hindsight really regretting it.

Pizza Express is a known scam.

No it is not! It advertises the products, the price for the product and amazingly delivers them to your table. You even get to pay after you have eaten and not before! What is more, if you really don't like what you have eaten you can complain when the waiter comes around and asks if everything is alright with your food. If it is not then they will even try and put it right - shock / horror!!!

It would only be a scam if they took your money and did not provide what they promised!

I go to pizza express every week, for under £8 we get 2 dough balls and 2 pizzas, but it does put me off going when it's full price ;P
