We went to A Pizza Express at The Outlet centre in Ashford kent last week, two salads and a bottle of coke £23, the coke £ 2.35. My choice I know but my wife said well we don't do it very often I said and we won't be doing it again, MacDonalds was only 50 yards away.

I know. It's appalling, isn't it?
We went to The Ivy last month and the bill came to over £250 for 2!
And there's a Burger King not five minutes walk away. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

If only there was some sort of list of prices that you could look at before ordering...0 -

We went to The Ivy (the club above the restaurant) last month, too. I didn't see the bill but we had a staggering number of Margaritas. The Welsh Rarebit was very nice.0 -
At any of these chains (Pizza Express, Cafe Rouge, Prezzo) the food is woefully over-priced because 99% of the time there are "2 for 1" or similar vouchers available. Don't go unless you have money-off vouchers. For the quality of the food, the full price is in no way worth it.0

Actually, where you went wrong was going to Pizza Express and not having pizza.0 -
Next time read the menu outside before ordering, eating and moaning about the place.0

Last time we went it cost us £30 in Tesco vouchers0

There's a shop near here charging £120 for a refurbished laptop, when there's a skip full of broken ones around the back.
Who can I complain to, can I get compensation and can I take them to court?
Seriously though, menus are provided for a reason. Might be as well to read it before ordering next time, and employ some simple arithmetic to work out the total.0 -
OP, you must be the only people to eat in Pizza Express and pay full price...ever. As pinkteapot said, there are always vouchers available. Call yourself a money saving stalwart?0

I agree the food is over priced but the times ive been is when ive had clubcard vouchers or orange wednesdays. The food is quite nice and they have a wonderful thing called a menu that lists the prices of the food and drinks so you could have chosen a cheaper drink.0
