Apols for typos in above post, using ipad and correcting them takes ages, so decided to leave errors in .....doc, my average food bill is also around £65to £70 too, this is usually always food, as have got all the other things stashed....toilet rolls, bleach, fabric conditioner, toothpaste, soap powder/liquid dishwasher stuff....Last week it was £90 and the week before £85, so better make it £65 this week to average it out....got a lot of fruit for a tenner the other week at Morrisons but i usually spend around £15 to £20 on fresh fruit, depends on the price of cherries, which have been extortionate of late.....0

Can I ask about APG and JTG...if you get the difference back from T's then why not get them from other supermakrets in the first place and if you get do the APG, why not go to the other supemarkets in the first place.?....I ask this because I only want to get products I really would eat or need and it appears you seem to have to buy a lot of goods just because they give you the difference and not because you really would have bought them in the first place.....it's totally lost on me and have not done it ....I did use DTD to my advantage but cannot see any merits in these now for me.
Trying to keep up with peeps posts but am researching holiday destinations once again and it is taking ages, everytime I find one destination/hotel I like, hubby then researches deeper and finds a neagtive.....desperate for a 5* positive at the moment....almost there with a 'definite maybe' from him for the Algarve ( Vilamoura, have been before) for Xmas/New Year.
Morning Everyone!
I do APG and JTD but only buy what I would normally buy.
I use APG to get 10% off my shopping. Asda is very handy for me as its on the school run. If there are a couple of things I want that are cheaper or the same price in Tesco or Sainsbobs I buy them in ASDA and make up the 8 items with an onion, a kiwi, a couple of carrots etc. I only get small APG's but "every little helps".
Also I prefer to buy an item in Asda that's a bit dearer and use a moc for part of its cost and then get an APG back than try to get it for free in Tesco.
I use Tesco to spend my CS vouchers and price flops but to be honest I find it hard to do a £20 or £30 shop so I can get my shop up to that level by utilizing JTD. However, it will be harder now with the 8 item rule.
Also some moc's specify they can only be used in Tesco.0 -
Bully do you get a weekly email from clubcard with their latest offers. Or every now and then I click on as they do some pretty good one off offers which you only notice by going on their site. Some are so good they are gone in minutes when they go on sale. You quite often get £25 Itunes card for £12.50 when they first done this sold out straight away but they now do it often and have more so not quite the same rush, last Christmas they were doing House of Frazers card £25 for £12.50 I got some of these and used them to buy sale items at half price or less:D;) DH got a lovely pair of brown leather boots so he was chuffed that deal sold out extremely quickly.
They have been doing the restaurant deals for a while now x 4 and also lots of the hotel deals ie Hilton recently (think that maybe over now though). I have ordered some days out tokens for summer hols as you were getting X 5:j:j:j ie £2.50 got a £12.50 token.
Bully I don't think it being snobbish to want a private transfer at all sometimes it works better we have used it several times on hols as quicker and more convenient, and sometimes you just want to get there and start your hols:D;)0 -

Morning FT( forgot my manners before)am up and almost running now...lovely sunshine here today, makes the day ahead promising....shopping, and then a walk with everything drying out and smelling fresher and looking so much greener after all the rain, will make it a longer walk than usual.....
I think one thing is obvious from all the posts we all do the best we can, not everyone likes the same stores or same things but we all get the best we can/want from them and that makes us all savvy shoppers in my mind...as I said a few posts back ...'horses for courses' what suits one does not suit another, we all have different tastes and ideas.....
Forgot about the T's email re deals AH, yes I do get it , so did know, just totally slipped my mind.......thanks for reminding me, but as I've been saving my vouchers to accrue the £200 for my hols have not looked too carefully at any other use...but noticed the Top Gear mag promo which I pointed out to jeferey.0 -
Dr.Who-Who wrote: »That is why I said "we used to take apprenticeship" ( I am talking about 6-7 years ago!). During that time - we were supposed to keep this lad for 1 month but within 2 weeks we had to let him go as he is not cut out to do the work.
I did not signed any contract with the college that time.
Now that you mentioned that there is a min. contract of 12 months - its no wonder some companies not willing to take them.
yes apprenticeships 6-7 years ago, were DEFINITELY not like apprenticeships now. It is a whole different ball game. We are actually doing very well with apprenticeships. We have a lot of companies signed up who have put their employees on the apprenticeship scheme, as it does not cost them anything except time in releasing them for workshops with us and exams. And at the end they get a nationally recognised qualification which is transferable, can be taken to any other job in the same industry showing they are qualified and competent to do the job required. Also some of our learners get payrises by completing their qualification, so it is an extra incentive for them to get it.0 -
Nearly forgot hope your headache feels a lot better soon MT no wonder with the upset of DS apprenticship:A:A:A0 -
bully, you are right, we are all different, and have different styles of shopping/moneysaving, etc.
If we were all the same, life would be very boring indeed! there would not be a need for MSE! :rotfl:
anyway, agree with you, I wouldn't go shopping to my local supermarkets, looking a total scruff. I know the people at my shops, as been going there for years, and would be very embarrassed if they saw me in a less than presentable state.
Although I am not big on wearing make up, just can't be bothered with it.0 -
oh AH! I wish I had some answers for you on how to get the LA to agree to the funding, but I don't think there are any but to keep fighting!
Have you tried posting on the education boards on MSE? someone might have some ideas?Or have you tried googling for forums with similiar?0
