AH - don't know about fairfax, I only use caxtonfx.

The way it works is you buy the rate according to the exchange rate on the day you decided to top up.

Lets say : You would like to buy £100 of US dollars & todays rate is £1 you get $1.5710. So your caxton US currency card will have $157.10.

Go to any overseas ATM bank (NEVER USE CAXTONFX IN UK, its A NO NO) & say your magic word & you can withdrawn the $$$ with no commission etc. You withdrawn $50 CaxtonFx will deduct your card $50.

Hope you understand what I am trying to say.

AH - CaxtonFX - you can't spend more than what you have on the card. Top up is very easy - transfer ££ to your caxtonfx account.

The advise is DO NOT top up too much in 1 go. Maybe leave is as £200 & if you think its not enough whilst you are in US - log into your account & top up another £100.

Now my caxton A/c only have £25 & I'll only top up when I am ready to go for me next trip.

    http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/#/asda-compare-prices/red_wine/wolf_blass_yellow_label_shiraz_australia_750ml.html

    2 x the red label white.:D

They better pay me my JTD or else I'll be returning them 4 again:D:D and if I do, this time I'll be getting cash from them:rotfl:.

Because I returned 6 bottles ( with 2 separate receipts) the girl got confused.com when she scanned 6 exchanged bottles & it come out with 20% off. She said errmmm me no, no how to pay you back as you paid the above using vouchers.

Me said don't worry - just cancelled the transaction & do in 2 lots. To me advantage of course:rotfl:

Me : err.. where's me receipts?
CS : err... we can't give you that says 1 of the CS
    Me: why's that?
CS : cos' its already in your old receipts.
Me : ya but you crossed it out, how am I going to claim that back from me boss?
CS : err... ok, cancelled the transaction again & do it as cash transaction:D ( me.. oh yes you do that:rotfl:)

Thanks Doc sounds pretty simple and safer than carrying loads of cash. Went back on the MSE link from this weeks email clicked on details for the FairFx also mentions the one you use but can't find a rate table where you can compare what say todays rates are to compare against cash option or even each other IYSWIM this was the info was looking for yesterday. The comparison in the left hand side seems only for cash
  • Rain, rain go away...

Having a good day! Late last night very pregnant female puss produced four little moggie sproglets. Woohoo! 2 little ginge, 1 tabby/white and 1 all-black. Well actually she had 2 little blackies but sadly one didn't make it. Another little poppet for my own sweet angel to look after. It was the biggest of the litter too, strange. (That will account for all determined little terminators who were in my back garden, front garden, windowsill, porch, pathway (all at the same time it felt like) come rain, shine or hailstones, about 9 weeks ago). I was with her throughout her labour and she is a complete star! Its an honour and only a pleasure to share this with her.

Secondly, I won £10 l2s on MC for "big tipper" takes my total up to £30 now. Not as good as some of you lucky guys but Im happy.

Then, just logged into email and see that Im a lucky winner of £100 lipsy vouchers in a recent maybelline comp.

Yay, vouchers building up nicely for christmas 2012.

    My mojo is creeping back...

Hugs to all who need them. Thank goodness its Friday. spent an hour in someone's company earlier who can suck the pleasure out of anything but today is a good day!

I love having kittens around. We are keeping one (at least ;) - shhhh, don't tell OH!)
Love, through the trees, past the sky, beyond the northern lights; and I won't let go. May your soul and spirt fly sweetheart x

Any D cup and above ladies out there - have you seen this?
  • Hey Dr. W... Well I joined the MC party (story of my life, lol) and have poodled along. I was 50 out of 50 the other day then all of a sudden up pops "big tipper" and £10 is mine, mine, mine.

Maybe with Unilever vip closing, and with something obv up their sleeveys, P & G have decided to add some extra goodies. Just a thought.

£100 lipsy vouchers will have to go to dd2 at christmas, theres no way on this plant Id fit in anything from lipsy, lol unless they have a "mutton" section.

dd3 is looking over my shoulder pestering me to go on winx club online and can see the smileys etc to the right of the reply. She thought the spinning Martin Lewis was daddy! lol.

Just been catching up on all your drivel.

Have those of you with housing problems with HA tried getting your local councillors involved? My husband was a local councillor for a number of years and often had to intervene to get repairs sorted. Failing that contact your local paper, national papers, radio station, MP and anyone else you can think of to get some publicity for the problem. Good idea to get everyone who is affected to write individually.
We recently had a campaign because of the state of our road. Had local radio, local paper, National press and the BBC in contact with articles published. The council did a temporary repair on all the potholes very quickly and have admitted the road has past its lifetime - no repairs in over 50 years! - and they have promised it will be fully done this financial year. So just waiting now to see when it will happen.

Yep this development is in the local paper virtually every week, :rotfl:and other developments run by the same HA; needless to say they are never available for comment (because they don't care). This development was recently handed over to another housing association in the same umbrella group, and I know the new housing association are a lot more hands on and take complaints seriously in many regards but at the same time I have heard they are even worse with repairs. Am seriously thinking of writing to local MP though as he does get involved in stuff like this xx
