Shame about the damp PM - this weather isn't helping
.
On way to work this morning, there was one river that looked ready to burst it's banks and 3 others that were VERY high. Reminded me of the floods in Sheffield a few years back....

I've got 2...a smart one with a wooden case,(Ebac) had it about 30 years and a white one had it about 25 years(Toshiba)....the wooden cased one is more powerful and we bought it when we moved here and we had a lot of plastering done to speed up drying process, it is quite heavy and bulky( sits in the corner of the spare bedroom, looks just like a bedside cabinet) so we bought the more portable white one to use in the bathroom after showering when it is too cold to open the window...dries the room perfectly....amazing the amount of water de-humidifiers collect, wouldn't be without either of them.PM - do you know anyone with a dehumidifier that you could borrow? At least that might help with some of the damp. I know we managed to borrow one when we had a major roof leak and it did improve the damp in the house. Unfortunately, not the sort of thing that most households have sitting around. :rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Just been catching up on all your drivel.
Have those of you with housing problems with HA tried getting your local councillors involved? My husband was a local councillor for a number of years and often had to intervene to get repairs sorted. Failing that contact your local paper, national papers, radio station, MP and anyone else you can think of to get some publicity for the problem. Good idea to get everyone who is affected to write individually.
We recently had a campaign because of the state of our road. Had local radio, local paper, National press and the BBC in contact with articles published. The council did a temporary repair on all the potholes very quickly and have admitted the road has past its lifetime - no repairs in over 50 years! - and they have promised it will be fully done this financial year. So just waiting now to see when it will happen.0 -
