Why dont we combine both money and exercise? For every 30mins we do, put £1(or whatever we can afford) in a pot. At the end of our given time (Easter, at the end of every month?) count it all up and then that money is to be used on ourselves only! New nail polish, maybe a manicure, new clothes, haircut....what'dya think?
What a great Idea!
I really dont have much money to spare, so i'll got for 50p per 30 mins session or £1 per 10,000 step, ive just sorted out my pedometer and will wear it daily again.
So far today i have had a bath :rotfl:lol i know how wrong that sounds, but what i mean is i dont normally have a bath mid afternoon!! but have to take my girls clothes shopping for their holiday after school, moneywise we could really do without this but their auntie has offered to take them all inclusive to Benidorm for a week in the school hols, we cant afford to take them on a holiday like that, so of course we said they can go, unfortunately though she only asked us about it 3 weeks ago, passports, new clothes and a bit of spending money have wiped out the funds again
Anyway...had a bath, defuzzed, shampooed AND conditioned the hair, moisterised, blow dried hair instead of just towel drying and brushing into place, applied small amount of makeup, and spritz of purfume
After reading Aesops post earlier, ive also put in some small earrings!
Also sorted out a smarter coat than my usual chuck it on coat, and swopped my full of junk bag for a smarter one too!!
Cooking on the hob is tonights home made chilli, lots of veggies in it and made from scratch, so lots of wholesome goodness there, and peace of mind knowing its already sorted for when we get back from the shopping trip
Blushing rose, im much the same, we never get the chance to go out anywhere as a couple.
Ive pretty much made myself into a prisioner in my own home, i tend to stay at home so i dont spend any money, or waste petrol, which is really how all this "not bothering" anymore has come about for me.

Nat - I love that idea! :T I'll go for £1 for every day that I exercise for at least 30 mins. I think that the thought of new shoes every month will keep me going
Hey Beanie! :j
Monkeynut - I have a huge stash of beauty bits too, I think we need to resolve to start using them more... and to not buy any more until we actually need them! In our house, Mon nights were always 'pamper night'. Me and my boy (yes, boy! :rotfl:) used to use face masks, completely moisturise ourselves, tidy up our nails (and paint them in my case), and anything else we felt needed doing. Think I need to start doing that again, we used to do it while watching the soaps and I still watch them anyway so may as well be pampering myself while I do it!
Moneyspider - Wow! Sounds like this afternoon's effort really has paid off! :j
Here's to a sparkly summer guys, lol!:beer:0 -
So today I didn't really do much that made me feel good. I had a terrible day at work, came home, cooked dinner and here I am.
I'm going to put a star in my signature everytime I do something that does make me feel good because I don't have the spare money this month. When I do have the spare money I can then count up my stars and go from thereDEBT TOTAL: £7609.440 -
I'm going to lurk on this thread for now. I think it's a truly brilliant idea but I'm not in a good place personally at the moment so not sure if I can commit to another challenge, but when I find my mojo I will return!Ninja Saving Turtle0

Squidgy ~ sorry to here you had a rough day today, enjoy looking round the boards and relax. what have you got planned to get your star tomorrow?
Wannabe ~ Although you dont want to commit to anymore challenges at the moment, we'd love you to tag along and jump in when your ready
We have had a lot of talk on the getting fit side of things, but you can set baby steps in motion if you like, moisturise before bed, use the hairdye you've been meaning to use for weeks, soak your feet and give yourself a pedicure...whateverBuild your own dreams ~ or someone will hire you to help build theirs

I am unfortunately at worrk again all day but then I suppose I'm earning money for the bills and debts!DEBT TOTAL: £7609.440 -
I'm not sure if I'm sparkling yet, the diet side of the sparkling was rubbish, a bar of chocolate threw itself in my mouth....
However, I did give myself a manicure and have put a bottle of hand cream by the bed, so I should have softer hands in the morning.
Wannabeincredit I hope you feel better soon, just lurk and maybe the lure of the perfume wafting from the thread will draw you in. I hope so.
