Hello ladies, have been meaning to join this thread but hadn't quite gotten around to it until now. Everyone seems to be doing great. And isn't it true that just doing a few small things can make such a big difference to the way you feel! I have some specific goals for my sparkle challenge...

    1. Give up meat (but not fish or seafood) and eat a fresher veg based diet. I need to plan my meals much better to cut down on how much I'm spending on food (which is far too much)

    2. Get super soft skin. I have heaps of body scrubs and lotions that are crying out to be used.

    3. Loose a stone ready for bikini weather! I want to buy a bike as I live in a fantastic area for cycling, but just have to find a cheap one or even better a free one :)

    So that's my plan.

Useful tip...used coffee grinds out of the peculator make a great and lovely smelling exfoliating scrub :) my super frugal Chinese ex-housemate told me that

  • Morning all:)

Sorry ive not been on much over the last few days, unusually busy here at atm. I started a new job last Thursday, night shifts so haven't had much chance to sparkle while i try and adjust :o

I did get a enforced facial from my daughter yesterday for mothers day, today its her 13th birthday and we have planned a pampering session in front of the TV tonight :)

Do you have Long hair & Odd socks??
DD1 wanted her hair "ragging" so had a look on youtube for a tutorial and found one using socks!
We gave it a go and it was really quick and easy to do, left them in overnight and her hair was lovely and curly the next day ~ very glam.
Hope everyone has a great start to the week :D

    Hey Everyone! :D

Just checking in after my hols. Sounds like there's been lots of sparkly efforts lately, and my 'Sparkle Fund' siggy seems to have caught on, lol.

Well, I wore myself out on hol and could do with another holiday to recover! We did a lot of walking around each day (ended up with blisters all over my feet, and aching everywhere from the waist down!), so think I've earned myself £3 for the sparkle fund pot. I've still not got one, so I'm just keeping tabs in my siggy and will pay it in when I've bought one. That's a job for this week.

I'm having a big sort out of the house tomorrow and will get on the wii in the evening, so should be able to add more exercise money then. No sparkly efforts to add, but will try and get my nails painted, my hair dyed, and my skin exfoliated and moisturised this week.

My skin's getting quite dry lately and I've even noticed a small eczema patch on the inside of my elbow (not had that for years!!!), so that is something I need to concentrate on. I also want to start using one of those gradual tanners, but I struggle to get it right at the best of times, so I need to get my skin in good condition before I even attempt it or it'll go all patchy - not a good look!
  • Well I went to slimming world last night, and annoyingly I had put 0.5lbs on, I had been so good all week as well, very disheartening! I went to Boots at the weekend and got another free Concealor, plus 2 nail varnishes from the No.17 coupon, tried my mums card but hers didnt come up with the offer. I just need to find the time to put my new nail varnish on!

Im also going to try and stop buying toiletries/makeup as I have a wardrobe full and don't need anymore (apart from facial wipes), I think there is a challenge for that somewhere on this site isnt there? That will save me some money!

My challenge is to use my Wii more, plus my next door neighbour popped round last night to ask me to witness a document for her and she mentioned that she wanted to lose some weight so we are going to see if there is a Zumba class at our local Community Centre as she is new to the area and doesnt want to go on her own, and she will also join SW with me!

    Together we will sparkle!!!!

  • Morning all :)

Glad to see you back after your Hols Lolly, yes we have all adopted the sparkle fund idea :D

Just wanted to add, for those who are following the Slimming world diet, there is a great support group on facebook with lots of 1000s of members from all over the country and lots of help support and recipe ideas, worth a look :)

I'm 2 days in to my healthy eating plan and I really want to snack! It's so hard!

I made a super healthy veggie dinner last night, but then ate 2 portions because it was lovely. I just keep convincing myself that all those vegetables are good enough for you to cancel the quantity out :) Anyway, I've decided I need to loose a stone so I'm going to add that to my siggy and see how I go.

Only spent £20 at the supermarket and that should feed me and the OH for about 4 days - assuming I stop eating double portions...

And I have been religiously exfoliating every other day for about a week now. The skin is so soft it's lovely. Must keep it up though. Do you think exfoliating can rub away celulite?! :)
