1st negative feedback in over 12 months

I've just received a negative feedback from a 0 feedback buyer from portugal.

I sold her a bag over a month ago, correctly described as brand new without tags. This is because I bought it last summer from a catalogue, removed tags but did not use it as it was a beach bag and I didn't get to go on holiday last year as I bought a house so the bag got stored in a box until I sorted stuff out to list on ebay.

Before she used buy it now she asked for more pictures which I sent her, the bag was in perfect new condition.

I sent it the next day by Airsure, so she will have had it for at least 3 weeks but I have not received any contact from her since she won the auction.

I have received feedback today saying "Although it was stated that the item was brand new, it wasn't really."

I'm upset and angry

I have sent her a message

"Hi, sorry that you are disappointed with the bag. What makes you think that it wasn't brand new? and why did you not contact me before leaving feedback?"

I feel like leaving negative feedback for her since she did not bother to contact me before leaving the feedback. I even state in my auctions to contact me before leaving feedback if there is a problem.

Also the bag was new and had not been used, it was as described and was sent the day after payment was received.

She had replied that she did not bother to contact me because I don't have a returns policy.

she thinks it was used because the material looks slightly worn and it had a hair inside it

the material looks kind of faded because it had a worn look to it when I bought it! it probably got a hair in it either when i listed it, or when i took additional photos of the outside and inside as she requested, or when i packed it. I have long hair and unfortunately it gets everywhere. I'm not going to wear a hair net when dealing with ebay items!

she now says that it should have been described as like new and not new because it had been in a box for a few months!?! it was still new, it hadn't been used so i was not going to describe it as used.

Sorry you've had an unjustified neg.

It's not the end of the world but I can imagine how you feel.

Probably best just to leave very polite, factual, feedback so that if anyone looks they'll probably realise the buyer was being a bit quick off the mark if not downright unreasonable.

If you neg her it might make it look as if you're the sort of seller who leave retaliatories after legitimate greivances.

If I'm totally honest I would leave a neg -'Buyer does not communicate before leaving unjust negative feedback' They might agree to mutual withdrawl if they get a neg.

Leave her a negative for being unreasonable....maybe she will want to withdraw it then.

Feedback is a measure of how satisfied you are with the transaction.

As you are very unhappy, negative feedback is appropriate.

Just state the facts in a dispassionate manner.

Then maybe contact her for a mutual withdrawal, though that might have negative connotations.
  • I'd leave a negative as apart from anything else it warns other sellers that she's a fussy, finicky buyer.

I had one recently who sent me so many emails I opened up a special folder for her.
  • Why don't you respond to her feedback with the exact circumstances as you perceive them?

I have decided I will leave her a negative feedback in return because she has had the bag for at least 3 weeks, didn't contact me at all and then left false negative feedback.
