driving whilst pregnant

Hi

If no pregnancy problem how long are you capable in driving a car for? I have a 6 year old but I hadnt passed by test in 2005. I was thinking 5 or 6 months. What do you think?

You can drive upto the birth if you're okay and can still fit behind the wheel and fit the seatbelt comfortably. There aren't any rules about it l don't think.

You don't need to 'choose' when it should be, just do it until you can't.

I drove in the early stages of labour - I didn't realise what it was!

I think as long as you are comfortable and your feet can still reach the pedals, carry on. The lap part of the seat belt should be under your bump and the diagonal should rest between your boobs (sorry if TMI!)

There are no rules & u can drive as long as u feel comfortable.

I drove til about 8 months regularly, then I really struggled. I did drive the week I was due as I had to go into hospital for some checks & dh was at work.

Im 8 months now and I'm still driving though it is getting a bit uncomfy. I'll still carry in for smaller journeys until I physically can't.

I drove all the way through both pregnancies inc 500 mile motorway round trips in the last month with ds..though with more loo stops than normal!

I'm 7 and a bit months and still driving - no problems fitting behind the wheel, no problems driving... major issues getting in and out of the car in a dignified fashion but I never mastered that one anyway!

I don't do MUCH driving - but that's because I hate driving anyway so delegate it wherever possible.

I was still driving up to the day before I gave birth, I didn't have a huge bump so I still fitted behind the steering wheel - had to kind of hoist myself in and out of the drivers seat by grabbing the open car doorway etc, but the actual driving I had no problems with.

I was 5 days overdue when a lady crashed into me, the look on her face when I got out of the car! I was also driving up and down the motorway to collect OH from the airport each week.

Just do it until you feel you are not able to, pregnancy isn't an illness!

Another one who drove in early labour. I also will admit to parking in Parent and Child spaces when very heavily pregnant. After all, I had a child with me (well, on board) and really, really needed the extra room!

My friends waters broke, she was contracting every 5 mins and took herself to hospital! Mad! I have had 4 and with my youngest i drove for 5 days in latent labour!! Pure agony but very legal! x Do it till you dont feel upto it.
RE Parent and toddler spaces- You can park there when pregnant anyhoo, there is still a child involved lol x
