I'm a bit intrigued by your question OP as you have been pregnant before to term, so know what it feels like, and also already drive so know what is involved in that.
What are your particular concerns about driving later in pregnancy. Was there something about your previous pregnancy which makes you think you will struggle to do so this time round? Perhaps if we knew what was worrying you about it, we could offer a more informed opinion.
I drove until about 8 months in my last pregnancy. I had quite bad pelvic girdle pain and by the end of the eighth month I was finding it hard to turn round in the driver's seat, so stopped at that point. I could have carried on right up to the end, but it was getting uncomfortable and my husband was happy to do the school run for a few weeks so I didn't have to. Size wise though, even though it was my third child, I had no problems getting behind the wheel, and I didn't have any blood pressure problems or gestational diabetes or anything which might make me flakey.
My only labour started with very acute pains close together though. There is no way on earth I could have driven at that point, though I have heard of women driving themselves to hospital at that stage. Personally, I used to close my eyes and curl up in a ball when the contractions hit, which might have been a tad risky for others on the road

It's funny, I was just talking about this earlier today. I drove right up to the day I gave birth, but a week before the due date, I drove to a supermarket with a multi storey car park - drove to the top level, no problem.
When it came to leaving, well, that was another story. Every level I tried to go down, I clipped the back door on the drivers side of the car. The first time, I stopped, got out and look in horror at the damage to the car. The very next level, the same thing happened. I stopped, winced, then carried on - well, I had no choice, did I? After that, I happily clipped the stone piller on every level - I just could not turn the steering wheel enough to get round, my belly was too big:mad:
So, yes, keep driving, but be safe!!!!0 -
Waters broke, drove myself to hospital, was no one else around to do it, was too scared to wait for ambulance, wouldn't recommend it though

DD I could only drive until about 7 months as I was too big.......DS I drove right up until I was in labour.
Just see how it goes, you'll know when/if you need to stop

The biggest problem I had was getting in and out the car. I have a 3 door and the doors are quite chunky, not leaving me a lot of room when someone parks close. I really could have done with using the parent and child spaces in the last few months of pregnancy just so I could open my door wide enough!Baby Giz born 6/2/110

We had to travel for me to be induced. I didn't want to fly and so we got a boat and then drove about 200 miles. I drove for most of it, and was +13 days at this point. Couldn't drive afterward though as I had a c-section.Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.
