Would have posted the link but for some stupid reason New members on this site are not allowed to post links ?? thats a lot of good when your trying to show someone a money saving tip and where to look ?

    Well done Martin

Clearly read the rules then, its to avoid spammers. Yes, well done Martin.

As for the thompson and morgan set, you are perfectly entitled to a refund, simply contact their customer service department stating your unhappy with the purchase and as it didnt clearly state what would be in it had no idea of what you had ordered, The distant selling regs are there for this reason, use them.

Not a fan of T&M myself after a bad experience last year with the perenial collection. The customer service and refund was quick and positive though but just a shame the plants weren't great.
I got the impression from the rep on the phone that my order had been packaged and ready for dispatch for well over a week ..... and the plants looked like they had been in a dry plastic coffin for a week as well sadly :o

I too rec'd my box of plants today from their 20 plants for £9.99 offer and am very disappointed with the size, they are miniature plug plants and in poor condition. I too got some free seeds which were not mentioned with the offer - is this meant to be some form of compensation ? Will not be ordering from them again

I received mine today and they are not fantasitc quality but I am pleased with the selection and all are showing signs of growth. I did not really take the £100 worth of plants at face value but for price I paid I'm happy. I have had to look up a couple and there are a few that I will pass on but its a cheap way of adding to the plant in my garden at 50p a plug its not bad.

I ordered 3 jumbo plants from them last year for £15 and when they arrived, they were tiny. Absolutely pathetic. As per usual with T&M, I got my money back. I never use them anymore and bearing in mind how often I am asked the best place to get things - the amount of business they lose through sending me duff plants is huge.

    Avoid avoid avoid.
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

Agreed. I bought some plug plants from them last year and they turned up half dead and the plug sizes were tiny considering they were supposed to be jumbo plugs! They sent me some replacements for the half dead plants, but those weren't much better. I'd rather pay a bit more at the local garden centre and know i'm at least getting a decent plant!

I'm quite pleased with the package I received. Admittedly there were four campanula, which I'm not so keen on, but otherwise there's quite a good variety. I wasn't expecting it to be anything other than plugs that will need some nurturing and time in pots, but they all look to be viable.

The other surprise, as others have noted, was the free packs of seeds that they included. I got five packs veg seeds (inc french beans, dwarf beans, peas, parsnip) and five flower (inc nasturtiums, forgetmenot, petunias, marigold, penstemon). The veg seeds are all around the £2.50 to £3 mark. They're last years packets, but clearly viable if planted before august this year.

Now I normally evaluate freebies on the basis of 'it's only good value if I would have bought these anyway'. And I wouldn't have bought any of these packs if I'd seen them in the shops. Particularly as I'm quite new to gardening (I've retired from full time work this year and not had enough time in the past) and I was planning on just some simple steps this first growing season.

But these free packets have got me working out how I can grow beans in containers and whether I can get peas going too. Plus trying the flower seeds - already got the nasturtium seeds in a pot and they only arrived yesterday. (Took me on a 50 year memory journey to nasturtiums in pots when I was a kid).

So, for me, it was £15 well spent. 20 plants (admittedly small) plus more adventurous in my planting plan.

The dwarf beans are a good low forming variety and work great in pots. I grew a couple last year and they produced lots of lovely green beans. I am planning to do more this year but will put them in smaller pots as they didnt need to be in such a big pot last year (I wasnt sure)

Did anyone take up the offer of three jumbo plug buddliea buzz for 1p + P&P the other day? (via email offer) Mine havent arrived yet and i know i said i wouldnt use T&M again but for £4.96 for three dwarf buddleia i couldnt resist :rotfl:

Ooh I'll definately do them then. What size pot do you suggest? One plant to a pot?
