Pumpkin - was it taken off and then reimbursed?

And I'm surprised at the number of people who seem to have bought things they don't really want just to use the code. Given there were only 50,000 offers, I thought it was obvious the code would expire very quickly, so I used it on something I would have been happy to buy anyway. Then it was a bonus when the code worked.

I used the code last night, the £5 came off the amount I had to pay, but this morning my paypal account is showing that the full amount before the £5 discount has been taken off. Is that the same for anyone else?

If you go into the transaction info it should show something like this -

    Funding Type:
    Redemption Code and PayPal Funds

    Funding Source:
    £5.00 GBP - £5 off for eBay.co.uk Facebook fans #CUKFB1
    £1.95 GBP – PayPal Account

Found this offer via another thread on here last night, tried to use it at about 11pm I think. (many people after me were still reporting it working)

bought a BIN item, just short of £5. At checkout the code appeared to be accepted, and total to pay was reduced to £0.00. It directed me to paypal, and I assumed this was just to process the voucher, so logged in.

HOWEVER i also checked 'my ebay' and the item is showing as unpaid!!!!!!

So just a warning, even if you have put in the code and and it looks like ebay are confirming the payment of the voucher, its not necessarily worked!!

I did try again straight away, but it then said I had already redeemed a voucher for that account, which I had not, I had TRIED to, but it had not worked!!:(

Has anyone else had this problem?

    Mine is showing as paid

You didn't use the code more than once did you?

Maybe get in touch with them and ask them why it hasn't worked! xx

( perhaps the transaction didn't 'fully complete' on the Paypal site? ) :(

Waiting for all hell to break loose tonight after a lot finish
work and check their emails, then chime here for a bit of
    a moan..
  • To all those that missed out out; stop moaning. You missed out on a deal, so what, there'll be many others. It's only £5. You'd think it's the end of the world. I've missed quite a few too. It', a question of being the right place at the right time. As for all the greedy b*ggers, who got carried away, I hope they get stung. Also, they didn't give people later to opportunity to get a deal. :(
I, myself, got a memory card for 50p. Well chuffed.:)

That's happened to me too. Surely that's not legal?

Adverts on TV , free £5's - Ebays UK arm must be failing to meet its targets.

Ebay should not have allowed the code to be used early. The same happened with the Occado £20 voucher last year.

I waited until after midnight and used mine, just in case. Seconds later i received a 'paypal account restricted' email, and thought "oh no - its a dodgey code".

Thankfully - it was a dodgey email instead :D

Oh, and to those who used the code to buy something for £1.99 - maybe money saving isn't for you.
