Anybody make a bunch of paypal accounts?0

Well, a free fiver seems like a bargain, but to be frank I don't trust Paypal, as it will always be a dodgy company as far as I'm concerned.
For example, if you sign up to Paypal by giving them a Direct Debit authority, did you know that the company collecting the money from your bank account doesn't actually exist?
When I spotted this (6 January this year), I made an enquiry to Paypal using the e-mail address on the DD authority as follows:I note from the Direct Debit authority that is being presented on your Web site for agreement that Direct Debits from our bank account are to be collected by "JPMC Re PayPal Pte Ltd".
However, we have previously lost money following the purchase of goods from a trader based in Northern Ireland because of the fact that the so-called "PayPal Buyer Protection" provides far less protection to consumers under UK consumer protection legislation and the protection afforded to consumers by UK-based financial institutions. Despite the claim in your User Agreement that it is regulated by English law, it is not possible to commence Part 27 CPR 1998 claims against "PayPal (Europe) Sàrl et Cie SCA" in an English County Court. There are three PayPal subsidiaries registered at an address within the jurisdiction as follows:
Paypal (Europe) Limited, company number 04056498;
Paypal (UK) Limited, company number 05468033; and
Paypal SE, company registration number SE000007
All these have registered offices within the jurisdiction of the English Courts as all three have their registered office at:
Whittaker House
Whittaker Avenue
Richmond, Surrey
TW9 1EH
However, JPMC Limited trades as a Liverpool-based restaurant, and as "PayPal Pte Ltd" either does not exist, or alternatively is registered outside the UK and beyond the jurisdiction of the English Courts, by whom (actual company details, please) are these Direct Debits being collected, so that legal process can be served on them as Defendants in any proceedings arising out of any disputed transactions? This is required because, in the case where we lost money as a result of the inadequacies of Paypal Buyer Protection, PayPal (Europe) Sàrl et Cie SCA ignored repeated requests for this information and - as it ceased to be regulated by the Financial Services Authority when Paypal operations were moved to Luxembourg, beyond the reach of UK regulators and the English Courts - we need to know against whom to proceed by way of Part 27 proceedings if and when this situation recurs in future.
Fictitious company taking my money from my bank account, no response to queries, and trading from Luxembourg to avoid UK consumer protection legislation (and no S.75 CCA 1974 protection even if you use your credit card to pay in this way!) - I wouldn't touch these people with a bargepole...0 -
20 pairs of eyelashes for 59p! Thanks OP!0

Ok so I think Ive found a bit of a glitch - you can set up more paypal accounts, you dont have to have bank details, just a new email address. Just close the window when it asks about bank account details... so technically if youve got time and patience, unlimited free stuff from ebay... not sure how much they would like it though
Not good for a newbie to be advising people to commit fraud - Some people on HUKD have already had their Paypal accounts suspended over doing this & the payments are marked now as UNPAID on their Ebay accounts!0 -

Yes I had a go and it worked.Did not enter any card details on the new paypal account and made sure the spend was under a fiver so my card details were not required. Not sure how ebay will respond to this though. Thanks to Manchee.

YAY! Thanks for the post! Literally just bought a belt I'd had my eye on for a week or so but was too cheap to buy full price lol
Original Price: £7.49 + free PP
Discount -£5
Total to pay £2.49
Can't argue with that0 -

How is it fraud? If you open a paypal account using all your own info, thats not fraud. The rules state 1 voucher per paypal account. Im not advocating people commit fraud0
