I'm in the same boat as you, and looking for a new bathroom suite. The best value I have found is with screwfix and they have received good feedback from previous buyers

I am also looking for a suite. Also, which is best steel or plastic? I don't want my bath ro move too much as the sealant splits.

Steel baths don't move as they are solid. The draw back is they are cold, so they cool quicker if you are having a bath. They can also chip if you drop something heavy into them.

Try homebase the quality seems good and they include all taps and accessories that some of the others charge extra for
  • I bought a Focus bathroom suite from their take-away range about 2 years ago. We fitted it ourselves so I do not know about installation. I got the ‘Chamomile’ suite for about £170 from what I remember – they still do it and often seem to have it in the sale. It included taps & all the fittings.

I think it is pretty good quality – ceramic sink & loo and metal enamelled bath – I don’t think it would have been worth paying more.
Your home is at risk if you do not keep up repayments on a mortgage or other loan secured on it.

What I have noticed about most bathroom suites nowadays is the toilet. It has one of those stupid buttins you press, as opposed to pulling the lever to flsh it.

Whenever I see reasonably priced suites in the paper thats the first thing I look for. If it has the button then its a No No!!

What's wrong with B&Q bathroom suites?

We got one from B&Q home delivered and installed it ourselves. They turned up at the agreed time, were very helpful and everything was intact with no damage.

    Couldnt fault them...

By the way, ours has a "button" and you get used to it after a while - neither of us were keen but we had limited choice as needed a smaller than normal bath.

I just pop in now and then.... :)

Have you had a look at this place

    https://www.bathrooms4sale.com

    or https://www.plumbworld.co.uk

they seem to have some reasonable prices.

I've only purchased small items from these sites, and the service has been really good, as were the products I bought.

somone one once told me this tip about steel baths and how to reduce the heat loss
Use loft insulation material underneath it, pack it in between bath base and floor, cover with bath panel.
