cookies don't slow a machine down or cause problems, but all that security/adware/tuning software probably will.!!

Wasn't too sure about Admuncher and cant say its a lot different without it so I will leave that off.

I Think the java uninstall/install did the job as well as freeing myself up (finally ) from AVAST and then dumping the other software.

I'd uninstall combofix too if you're sure everything is running correctly.
Open a Run command box. (Start > Run or Windows key + R) and copy paste this command in:
ComboFix /uninstall
Note the space between ComboFix and /uninstall , it needs to be there.
Click OK
let combofix uninstall itself.0 -

Im havign problem with IE and avast. Have finally got rid of avast and put ms security essentials on instead but ie still slow despite doing a resetAlways on the hunt for a bargain0

C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc
> OK
Open the file hosts with notepad.
It should look like this if it was successful.

There is/was a conflict between Spybot and Avira. After a recent big update, by default Avira started to protect the Hosts file, which Spybot also does via its' 'Immunise' feature.
Any chance this is occurring in this instance?Move along, nothing to see.0
