Why is it that I need to clean off 40 PLUS infections that Superantispyware finds EVERY DAY now.

How on earth do I stop them in the first place?

Tracking cookies? Ignore them, they're harmless. You can turn it off in SAS's preferences. Uncheck scan for tracking cookies under scanner control.

These probably cause more trouble than they solve. I see them on no end of machines that are acting up, running slowly etc - They just don't work IMO.

Did you have any joy with my previous suggestions - running IE in no add-ons mode, or uninstalling admuncher?

Ok. Done.

Wasn't too sure about Admuncher and cant say its a lot different without it so I will leave that off.
Running with no add-ons (Right click IE) isn't as smooth and is no faster - in fact slower.
Of those do-it-all progs I only run Amigo from time to time and use the others very rarely.

There are some useful tools in Glary, tho. But JV16 and Advanced - I could easily live without.

I have read the article on Java and will re-install those files on my lappy, too. Looks like a wise precaution.

I have replaced the files you suggested, too.

Download this and save it to your desktop.

When you've downloaded it - it should take 1-2 mins to run.

• Double click aswMBR.exe to run it.
  
• Change the AVscan to None from the drop down box, then click the Scan button.
  
  
• When the scan reports "Scan finished successfully", click Save log & save the log to your desktop.
• Click OK when prompted. aswMBR.txt & MBR.dat will be appear on your desktop.
• Click EXIT.
• Copy & paste the contents of aswMBR.txt & post it here.

Don't click to fix anything, just post the log.

No crash or lockup with no ad ons but I think that problem is now solved anyway.

PC is certainly faster than my memory (Failing) serves.

I had slight difficulty following the instructions for aswMBR but Hopefully I got there in the end.

It asked me if I wanted to download the latest definitions from Avast but I declined then ran the scan

I had to the go back into the program and ask it to sve the log which is copied below.

No crash or lockup with no ad ons but I think that problem is now solved anyway.

Sounds promising - I thought you were still having problems. IE running ok then now?.
