Is that the Keejays sauce you use. I've just had a google for it and it seems to be the one to use.
I just need to know where to buy it from!!!“Pleasure of love lasts but a moment, pain of love lasts a lifetime.”0 -

There may be other brands but we got one from Wing Yip (Chinese wholesalers). Branches in Birminham, Croyden, and two others which I can't recall.
I am sure lots of Chinese suppliers sell it and yes, it is the same paste that the take aways and chip shops use.
Never understood the 'chips and curry sauce' thing though...

Sorry... forgot... and Wing Yip sell fantastic prawn toasts and spring rolls. Ridiculously cheap and fantastic to have in the freezer for us, as it's the snacky bits we miss from a takeaway. I can make a curry or chow mein any time, I even make a fab chicken and sweetcorn soup, but I can't re-create the starters.

Love the stuff - but a tub is too much for us to use all at once, so, using a sharp knife, divide it into quarters in the tub. One quarter is enough for at least two people, and then freeze the rest, still in the tub. It's easy to take one of the quarters out when needed. Also try adding a tin of mushy peas to the mix - Mmmm.....0

Make your own prawn toast...
Chuck a pack of minced pork and a handful of prawns into a food processor. Spread liberally on white bread. Cover in sesame seeds. Fry.0 -

Have done that before, but it doesn't taste the same (i put spring onion, salt, soy sauce, cornflour, egg white and add to bread with the prawns)... The Sainsburys ones (£2 for 8 halves) are delicious though.
I adore the things0
